Martinsen Tree Service I received my B.S. of Science in Biomedical Sciences from Liberty University. Instead, I decided to pursue a career as an arborist.

However, due to various reasons, I decided not to pursue a medical degree after college. After cutting several trees and carving a bear from wood, I was in love with tree felling and chainsaws. I moved to Charlotte, where there is a great need for skilled arborists. Through the help of other arborists, online resources, my Dad's 50+ years of experience, I have been able to advance my expertise. If your old school like me and you sharpen your own chains. If you’re just starting out, it can kind of be frustrating, especially when dealing with changes that are cutting curved. The way I have come to understand this is that curved chains are either disproportionately tall or sharp on one side of your chain. A common cause of this could be that you have chipped all of the corners off on one side by hitting a rock or a piece of metal When you were cutting.

The way this is easily solved is by filing down all the teeth on the undamaged side to match the teeth that have been shipped. By doing this, you go back to equal height for both sides of your teeth, thus taking away equal amounts of material on both right and left side of your chain. Hope this helps.

When you have to rig heavy wood down like this, a great alternative to negative rigging is remote rigging when you have a larger taller tree close to your removal. Negative rigging is a great option, when there are no other options that is.
