Sharing this important reminder from our neighbors!

🌾🚜 SAFETY SUNDAY | Share the Road with Farm Equipment 🚜🌾

During the summer months, drivers are more likely to encounter tractors and other farm equipment traveling on rural roads.

These large vehicles move slowly, have limited visibility, and may need additional space to turn or enter a field.

When approaching farm equipment:

Slow down early and leave plenty of following distance.
Never assume the operator can see your vehicle.
Be prepared for equipment that may extend across the centerline or shoulder.
Watch for sudden turns into fields, driveways, or farm entrances.
Do not pass near hills, curves, intersections, bridges, or railroad crossings.
Remember that large equipment may swing in the opposite direction before making a wide turn.
Be patient and only pass when it is clearly legal and safe.

Getting stuck behind a tractor may slow you down for a few minutes. Taking an unnecessary risk could change lives forever.

Slow down, give them room, and share the road.

We understand that heavy traffic and road delays can be very frustrating. However, please remember **911 is for emergencies only.**

Calling 911 to report that you're stuck in traffic or delayed by congestion ties up emergency phone lines that someone experiencing a life-threatening emergency may desperately need.

If you don't have a police, fire, or medical emergency, please do not call 911.

By reserving 911 for true emergencies, you're helping us answer critical calls faster and ensuring help gets to those who need it most.

**Help us better help you.** Thank you for doing your part to keep our emergency lines open and available for those facing their worst moments.

Our deputies, firefighters, EMS personnel, and other first responders are currently assisting with secondary crashes and working to safely clear the roadway so traffic can get moving again.
