Painted my first true mural for my sister in law this morning. She was so happy to have these cooters on her wall by the time I left. Yay for the gift of big smiles. šŸ’•

A friend asked me about end of year teacher gifts for her girls. She recently saw some cute earrings that she passed on in hopes I had time to make her something special for them. This is what I came up with this morning from our discussion. When I fire up the laser, I’ll make my prototype. Thoughts??

When somebody tells me to picture an apple. The 3D effect makes this painting of how my brain doesn’t produce an image of an apple even more realistic. 🤪

ā€œMind’s Eyeā€

I recently posted about something called aphantasia on my personal page. The mind’s inability to conjur mental images of well, anything really. It’s not something I’ve ever thought about until recently, but after an interaction and visualization exercise with a friend, and then reading about it, I put two and two together and it makes sense. Note: I am a big fan of self diagnosis and a hypochondriac to boot so take this with a grain of salt but….As I laid in bed this morning trying to picture an apple or even more simple, a green square….this is an example of what my brain ā€œseesā€. There’s no apple, no green square, no ability to pull into my brain a loved one’s faces, no forest with towering trees, no ocean scape, etc. I can sense how those things feel and the emotion attached to them and even describe their attributes but there is no visual imagery, just a kaleidoscope of moving merging colors. Occassionally I can get millisecond flashes of those things or parts of them but never an intact full visualization.

So my question….who can relate? I’d love to hear from you.
