How the City of Port St. Lucie is running us out of business

How the City of Port St. Lucie is running us out of business This page is a forum for contractor, small business people and owners can voice their opposition to the City of PSL compliances.

Our company has returned deposits for $ 10,500.00 of contracted work this week due to compliance with approved PSL site plans. According to Planning and Zoning (Director Daniel Holbrook), if an awning touches the ground, it must be in compliance with an approved site plan before permits can be issued. This includes a non refundable application for site plan amendment $710.00, preparing an amended site plan $ 1,500.00, submittal fees for different departments $ 650.00, and a structural stamp for plans $200.00. Over $ 3,000.00 in fees for an installation of a $1,200.00 awning. This is ludicrous, how can our company survive these ridicules fees? Please help us get the word out before the city destroys more small businesses, this has to be stopped. Please share your experiences with the city on our page and contact the city council, let them know this will no longer be tolerated.
