On today’s episode of Builders in Trucks Drinking Coffee, we’re making a stop at one of Brad’s go-to coffee spots.

Technically, it’s a Mobil now. But Brad has always called it the campground store, and one of his friends calls it the chicken store because of the delicious fried chicken inside.

So, the chicken store it is.

Not fancy or hand-roasted, just good coffee!

Huge thank you to my Vitruvius roundtable group for recognizing me as the Spring Meeting MVP. I'm honored to have been chosen by a group of outstanding individuals who all run amazing companies.

I’m grateful to be part of a group of remodelers and builders who are genuinely committed to helping each other improve. The conversations, shared experiences, and accountability within this community have had a real impact on how I think about leading Oxland Builders.

This recognition means a lot because it comes from people I respect and learn from every time we get together. I’m proud to be part of the Remodelers Advantage Inc Roundtables community and thankful for the opportunity to keep growing alongside such a strong group of business owners.

Most kitchen remodel regrets come down to one thing: the layout. A kitchen can look great, but if the space doesn’t work, it quickly becomes frustrating.

Another episode of Builders in Trucks Drinking Coffee and this time, we’re heading back to the home we’re building in Northwood.

Since our last visit, this project has made a lot of progress. The structure is up, the roof is installed, and most of the windows are now in place.

One of the current challenges has been getting the frost out of the basement hole so the floor can be poured. It’s just part of building through New England conditions, and an important step before the next phase can move forward.

We’ll be sharing more as this Northwood home continues to take shape.

Back in Stratham for another look at this three-season room conversion.

These types of projects can be a smart way to gain more livable space. When the existing space is already there, the work may involve insulating, updating electrical, adding windows, so the room can be heated and function more comfortably year-round.

For this home, the project goes beyond insulation, electrical, windows, and heat. We’re also correcting existing structural issues and making thoughtful accessibility updates so the finished space works better for this family long-term.

That’s an important part of renovation work. The goal is not just to make a space look finished, but to make sure it’s safe, comfortable, and thoughtfully built for the people who will use it every day.

Follow along as this space continues to come together.

Ever wonder what paint color you used, or which tile was installed, years after a renovation?

That’s exactly why we provide a project closeout document at the end of our projects. Homeowners leave with a clear, organized reference for the future.

Thoughtful details matter. Even after the project is done.

Check out our recent blog post to learn more about our project closeout documentation.

Another episode of Builders in Trucks Drinking Coffee — with tea instead of coffee this week.

We’re heading back to the Stratham project where we began about three months ago converting a three-season room into part of the home. After uncovering and addressing some structural issues early on, the focus now is on finishing the space and bringing it all together.

It’s always rewarding to see the shift from problem-solving to progress.

We’re back on site in Stratham for the next phase of this project.

What started as a remodel of the existing space changed once we opened everything up and found the structure had been sloping and wasn’t properly supported.

Rather than trying to work around the issue, we worked with the customer and made a decision to rebuild the entire structure. This gives the homeowners a much better long-term result and a space they can feel confident in.

Sometimes the best outcome comes from knowing when it makes more sense to start over and build it the right way.
