There is nothing more frustrating than brushing your teeth or washing dishes while standing in a pool of rising water. Slow drains are a massive annoyance, but they are usually caused by one of these 4 usual suspects:

The Soap Scum & Hair Cocktail: Hair wraps around bathroom drain stoppers, catching soap and skin cells until water can barely squeeze past.

FOG (Fats, Oils, & Grease): Pouring warm grease down the kitchen sink seems fine until it hits cold pipes. It solidifies into a thick sludge that catches food scraps and narrows the pipe.

The Hidden "Biofilm" Buildup: Over time, a layer of bacteria, hair products, and waste builds up inside your drain walls, quietly choking off your water flow.

Tree Root Intrusion: If every drain in your house is running slowly at the same time, tree roots may have found tiny cracks in your underground sewer line to look for water.

🛠️ Quick Steps You Can Take:
The Hot Water Flush: Pour boiling water down the kitchen sink to melt minor grease buildup.

Use a Drain Mesh: Catch hair in the tub or shower before it enters the plumbing.

Skip the Chemical Cleaners: They can eat away at your pipes. Use a plunger or a simple plastic drain zip-snake instead.

Tired of waiting for the water to go down? Let the pros handle it safely. Call C. Lee Services at 330-923-4944 to get your pipes flowing like new again!

When you have a plumbing emergency, you’re stressed, vulnerable, and looking for a quick fix. Unfortunately, dishonest operators know this—and they use it to their advantage.

The "Invisible" Problem: A technician looks at your drain, claims there’s a major underground break, and insists on a massive excavation without showing you proof. The Fix: Demand to see the live video camera inspection feed yourself.

The Low-Ball Phone Quote: They quote an unbelievably low price over the phone just to get their foot in the door. Once inside, the price magically triples due to "unforeseen issues." The Fix: Get a detailed, written estimate before any work begins.

The Fear-Mongering Tactic: "If you don't replace this water heater today, it's going to explode tomorrow." If a plumber uses high-pressure scare tactics instead of facts, be skeptical. The Fix: Take a breath and get a second opinion.

The Phantom Parts Fee: Charging you premium prices for "specialized parts" that are actually standard, cheap components from a local hardware store.

The takeaway? A reputable plumber will always be transparent, answer your questions patiently, and provide clear pricing upfront.

Don't let a slick salesperson turn a simple fix into a financial nightmare.

Out of sight, out of mind? Not when it comes to your sewer line.

We get it. No one wakes up excited to think about sewer repairs. It’s easy to ignore a slow drain or a strange gurgling sound and say, “I’ll deal with that later.”

But when it comes to your main sewer line, later can get incredibly messy (and expensive).

Here is what’s actually happening underground when you put off sewer repairs:

The Problem Multiplies: A tiny hairline crack or a minor tree root intrusion quickly escalates into a collapsed pipe or a total structural failure.

The Dreaded Back-Up: Postponing a repair is an open invitation for raw sewage to back up into your tubs, sinks, and basement. Trust us, you don't want to experience that cleanup.

Mold & Health Hazards: Leaking sewage saturates the soil around your home and can seep into your foundation, leading to toxic mold growth and serious health risks for your family.

The Cost Skyrockets: A simple patch or hydro-jetting service today is a fraction of the cost of a full excavation, foundation repair, and property restoration tomorrow.

The takeaway? Minor plumbing annoyances today are often warnings of a major disaster tomorrow.

If your drains are acting up, there’s a strange odor in your yard, or your toilets are gurgling, don’t wait for the disaster to happen.

Call us today at 330-923-4944 or visit www.cleeservices.com to schedule a camera inspection. Let’s catch it before it catches you off guard!

No one wants to step into a freezing cold shower, but your water heater usually drops a few hints before it quits on you entirely! Paying attention to these warning signs can save you from an unexpected breakdown (or worse, a flooded basement).

Here is what you need to look out for:

Age of the Unit: Most standard water heaters last about 8 to 12 years. If yours is pushing double digits, it’s living on borrowed time.

Rusty or Discolored Water: If your hot water looks rusty, it usually means the inside of your tank is corroding, which leads straight to leaks.

Strange Noises: Rumbling, popping, or banging sounds mean sediment has built up at the bottom of the tank. This hardens over time, overheating the metal and wearing it down.

Frequent Repairs: If you’re calling a plumber every few months to patch it up, it’s more cost-effective to invest in a brand-new, energy-efficient unit.

Puddles or Moisture: Any pooling water around the base of the tank is a major red flag that requires immediate attention.

Upgrade to Peace of Mind
Modern water heaters are incredibly efficient, meaning a replacement doesn't just protect your home—it can also lower your monthly utility bills.

3 Subtle Signs Your HVAC Is Failing
You know the obvious signs your heating or cooling system is on its way out—like blowing room-temperature air or shutting off entirely. But your HVAC system usually drops a few hints before it completely throws in the towel.

If you notice any of these three subtle warning signs, it’s time to pay attention:

1. The "Ghost" Noises
An occasional click when the system kicks on is normal. Squealing, rattling, clicking, or a sudden deep hum? Not normal. Those sounds usually mean a belt is slipping, a motor bearing is failing, or components are coming loose.

2. Strange, Musty Aromas
If turning on your system fills the room with a damp, musty smell (often called "dirty sock syndrome"), you could be looking at mold or bacteria buildup in the evaporator coils, or a clogged condensate drain line.

3. Short-Cycling (The Constant On-and-Off)
If your system turns on, runs for just a couple of minutes, shuts off, and then repeats the cycle shortly after, it’s short-cycling. This puts massive strain on your compressor and skyrockets your energy bills. It’s often caused by an overheating system, a failing thermostat, or restricted airflow.

Don't Ignore the Whispers
Your HVAC system rarely goes down without trying to warn you first. Catching these issues early saves your comfort, extends the life of your equipment, and protects your wallet from emergency replacement costs.

When was the last time your system had a professional checkup?

Is Your Tree "Eating" Your Sewer Line?
That beautiful oak in your yard might look peaceful, but underground, it’s on a mission. Your sewer line is an all-you-can-eat buffet for thirsty tree roots!

How the "Silent Invasion" Happens:
Roots don't just "break" pipes; they act like a slow-motion wedge. They sense the moisture, find a microscopic crack or loose joint, and once inside, they thrive. What starts as a tiny fiber turns into a thick, woody mass that catches grease and debris, causing massive clogs.

Warning Signs of Root Intrusion:
Gurgling Noises: Does your toilet "chortle" after you flush?

Frequent Backups: Slow drains that just won't stay clear.

Lush Green Patches: A suspiciously green spot in your lawn is often "fertilizer" leaking from a damaged pipe.

Sinkholes: In extreme cases, a collapsed pipe causes the ground to settle.

How to Protect Your Home:
Camera Inspections: Catch roots before they cause a total collapse.

Hydro Jetting: Blast out established roots without digging up your yard.

Smart Landscaping: Plant slow-growing species away from main lines.

Pro Tip: Don’t wait for a total backup! A quick camera inspection can save you thousands in emergency repairs.

Nothing puts a dampener on your day quite like a stubborn clog. Don’t panic!

Follow this Step-by-Step Rescue Guide:

Stop the Water!
First rule of Plumbing Club: Don’t keep running the water. If the drain is backed up, adding more water only increases the pressure and the mess. If it’s a toilet, reach behind and turn off the water valve.

Try the "Old Reliable"
Not all plungers are created equal!

Cup Plunger: Best for flat surfaces like sinks and tubs.

Fl**ge Plunger: Has a "sleeve" at the bottom—essential for getting a seal in toilets.

The Natural Fizz
Avoid harsh chemical cleaners that can eat away at your pipes. Instead, try the classic combo:

Pour 1 cup of Baking Soda down the drain.

Follow with 1 cup of White Vinegar.

Wait 15 minutes, then flush with boiling water (unless you have PVC pipes—use hot tap water instead to avoid melting seals).

Check the P-Trap
If you’re feeling handy, put a bucket under the sink and unscrew the P-Trap. Often, the clog is just sitting right there, waiting to be cleared out manually.

Know When to Call a Pro
If you’ve tried the above and the water still won't budge—or if you smell a foul, sewage-like odor—it’s time to call in the experts. You might have a deeper blockage or a main line issue that requires professional equipment.

AVOID THE "QUICK FIX": Liquid "drain openers" can be extremely corrosive to your plumbing (especially older metal pipes). When in doubt, mechanical clearing is always safer than chemical clearing!
