What are the most common reasons an outlet stops working?

Outlets can fail due to tripped breakers, wiring issues, loose connections, or internal damage within the device itself.

While some cases may be simple to resolve, others can point to broader issues within the electrical system.

Identifying the underlying cause is key to preventing recurring problems and maintaining system reliability.

Does your home struggle to keep up with everyday electrical use?

Older panels weren’t built for today’s appliances and energy demands. A stronger panel means more consistent and reliable power.

We upgrade panels to safely support everything you rely on daily.

Historic buildings tell the story of a city, and projects like this ensure those stories continue for the next generation. Construction is underway at 142 Main Street in downtown Brockton, where the former Kennedy’s Department Store building is being transformed into modern residential housing while preserving its historic character.

Originally built in 1917, the five story structure once served as a central retail hub along Brockton’s Main Street corridor. Today, the building is being adapted into 30 apartments, including 20 affordable housing units, along with ground floor commercial space designed to bring new activity back to the downtown area.

Suburban Electrical Contractors is supporting the project by installing the electrical infrastructure needed to bring the historic structure up to modern standards. The work includes electrical distribution, wiring for new residential units, and systems that will power lighting, life safety equipment, and future commercial tenants.

Projects like this highlight the value of adaptive reuse, where historic buildings are preserved while being updated to serve the needs of today’s community.

“Rather than demolishing historic structures, developments like 142 Main Street preserve architectural heritage while giving buildings a new purpose.”… Visit our blog for more.

What does it mean when a circuit becomes overloaded?

An overloaded circuit occurs when the total electrical demand exceeds the circuit’s designed capacity.

This can lead to tripped breakers, overheating, and increased wear on your electrical system.

Distributing electrical usage appropriately and upgrading circuits when necessary helps maintain safety and long-term performance.
