Summer is almost here, and we can finally feel it in the Berkshires! ☀️ It's time to fully enjoy outdoor living spaces.

For this house on Onota Lake, we focused on blending traditional New England shingle-style architecture with contemporary glass expanses to create a seamless connection between the home and its breathtaking natural surroundings.

Architectural Details We Love:
🏡 Dark Green Shingle Siding: A classic choice that allows the home to recede into the forest of mature maples and aspens.
🪟 Large, Dark-Framed Windows: A critical design choice that maximizes the stunning lake views while providing a dramatic interior light well.
🧱 Natural Stone Retaining Wall: This dry-stacked wall provides structure for the garden beds and connects the home's foundation to the earth.
🚶‍♀️ Bluestone Paver Path: A textural element that offers a meandering approach through the new landscaping (shoutout to the birches and hydrangeas filling in beautifully!).

Pamela Sandler Architect, LLC is growing! We are a small, design-focused architecture firm based in Stockbridge, MA, and we are seeking a highly organized and proactive Office Administrator to support our daily operations.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys keeping a creative office running smoothly, managing schedules, and building efficient digital systems.

💵 Pay: $25.00 - $35.00/hour
⏱️ Hours: Part-time (20–25 hours/week, flexible across 3–4 weekdays)
📍 Location: In-person in Stockbridge, MA

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee general office communication, scheduling, and coordination.

Maintain project files, administrative records, and client invoices.

Coordinate with consultants, vendors, clients, and our outside bookkeeping team.

Help improve digital tracking workflows and office systems.

Qualifications:

5+ years of administrative, executive assistant, or project coordination experience.

Highly organized with strong attention to detail.

Comfortable with Microsoft Office, email, and general office technology.

Professional, collaborative, and discreet.

The concept phase is where we dream big and plan meticulously. 🖋️📐

We are thrilled to share a first look of a multi-structure master plan in the Berkshires. This project is a beautiful puzzle: we are currently balancing the intricate interior direction for this 3-bedroom Scandinavian-Japanese cottage while preparing the property for a large garage and a future 10,000 sq. ft. main residence.

The inspiration? The classic summer camps of our region. Our goal is to create a cohesive property "campus" that feels like a private retreat—complete with bunk-style guest quarters and central gathering halls.

Our latest project in the Berkshires is all about the "meld." We designed this home to sit harmoniously within the landscape, using a palette of natural woods that will weather beautifully over time.

Key design elements:

Contrasting Siding Profiles: Mixing horizontal and vertical grains to emphasize the home’s height and clean gabled forms.

Our latest project in Williamstown, MA is a study in interior-exterior flow. We used expansive glazing and natural materials to "blur the lines" between the living room and the woods beyond.

By pairing warm, natural wood siding with strategic fenestration, we’ve ensured the landscape feels like a permanent interior guest.
