🌱 Monday Mowing Tip: Leave the Clippings!

Here’s a simple way to give your lawn a little extra nutrition every time you mow. 🚜🌱

Don’t automatically bag your grass clippings!

When you mow regularly and the clippings are small, leaving them on the lawn allows them to break down and return nutrients back into the soil. ♻️

✅ Returns nutrients to the turf
✅ Adds organic matter
✅ Helps reduce fertilizer needs
✅ Saves time and disposal costs

The key: Mow regularly enough at least weekly that you’re not leaving heavy clumps behind.

If the grass is overgrown, wet, or leaving large piles of clippings, bagging may be the better option.

A good mowing routine = a healthier, better-looking lawn. 💯

It's FAQ Friday! We get lots of questions about keeping outdoor spaces in shape, so here are a few answers.

How often should mulch be applied? We recommend refreshing mulch once a year to help keep beds looking tidy and support soil moisture.

How often should gutters be cleaned? For most homes, cleaning gutters twice a year—once in spring and again in fall—helps prevent clogs and water damage.

Do you haul away debris? Yes, we recently purchased a heavy-duty dump trailer to increase effficiency and help lower dumping costs for our customers.

W**d ID Thursday: Let’s talk about Nutsedge!

If you’ve seen a bright yellow-green or lime-green, grass-like shoots popping up faster than the rest of your lawn, you might be dealing with nutsedge. This w**d stands out with its V-shaped stem and grows much quicker than regular grass.

Nutsedge is tough to remove because it spreads through underground tubers. Pulling it often leaves pieces behind, so it keeps coming back.

If you spot nutsedge in your yard, reach out for help or follow us for more lawn care tips every week!

Tuesday Turf Tips: Summer is prime time for lawn pests, and catching them early can save a lot of trouble down the road.

We see chinch bugs and grubs showing up in our area once the weather heats up. Chinch bugs suck sap from grass blades, leaving brown patches behind. Grubs feed on grass roots and can cause whole sections of lawn to wilt or pull up easily.

Spotting the signs early means we can treat the problem before it spreads. If you notice unusual spots or thinning grass, take a closer look and reach out for help if needed.

Stay ahead this season!

Hot days and summer sun change how we care for our lawns. When mowing in the heat, we always aim to keep blades sharp and cut grass just enough to avoid stressing it. Cutting too short can dry out the lawn and make it more likely to brown.

We stick to mowing in the cooler parts of the day and leave clippings to help hold in moisture. Consistent mowing keeps the lawn healthy and thick, even during those long stretches of hot weather.

Let us know your favorite summer lawn care tip or reach out if you need a hand keeping your grass looking its best!

Tuesday Turf Tips: Let’s talk fertilizer! 🟢

A balanced fertilizer gives grass the nutrients it needs to stay green and strong. Nitrogen boosts growth, phosphorus supports healthy roots, and potassium helps fight stress. Timing matters too—feeding in spring and fall sets your lawn up for better growth all season.

We’re always happy to share what we know so lawns look their best. Have questions about feeding your grass? Drop them below or send us a message!

🌱 Monday Mowing Tip: Bermuda Grass Loves Consistency 🌱

A healthy Bermuda lawn isn't just about watering—it's about mowing at the right time and the right height.

✅ Keep it between 2–3 inches (depending on your lawn and equipment).
✅ Mow every 4–7 days during peak growing season to avoid removing more than ⅓ of the grass blade.
✅ Use a sharp mower blade for a clean cut that helps prevent stress and disease.
✅ Water deeply, not daily. Aim for about 1 inch of water per week, including rainfall.
✅ Leave the clippings when possible—they return valuable nutrients to your lawn.

Remember: Frequent mowing encourages Bermuda to spread, become thicker, and naturally crowd out w**ds.

If your lawn isn't looking its best this summer, Redline Mowing & Trimming LLC can help with professional mowing, w**d control, fertilization, and lawn care services.
