Class 4 shingles on this one in Chisago City, which is about as tough as asphalt gets.

Owens Corning Duration FLEX in Driftwood. Class 4 is the top impact rating a shingle can earn, and the FLEX line is built with a rubberized asphalt that flexes when hail hits instead of cracking. In a state where hail is a yearly conversation, that’s a real upgrade and not just a sticker on the wrapper.

Worth asking your insurance company about too. A lot of carriers give a discount for impact resistant shingles.

The Driftwood color was a smart pick as well. It warms up the whole back of the house against that siding.

Nobody’s idea of a good Saturday is standing on a ladder in October.

And it’s not just about the chore. Water that can’t drain has to go somewhere, which usually means over the side and down against your foundation, or sitting at the roof edge all winter where it can make an ice dam a lot worse than it needed to be.

Straight answer on guards though. They cut the work way down, but they don’t make it zero. You’ll still want eyes on them once in a while. But you go from cleaning them out every fall to barely thinking about it.

A lot of people don't realize we do commercial work too.

Tong’s property in Chisago City took a hail hit, and we handled the full roof replacement. Same crews, same standards, just a bigger roof and more at stake, because a commercial roof is protecting your business, not just a building.

By the time you can see it, it’s been happening for a while.

Water almost never gets in through the middle of a wall. It gets in at the edges, around windows and doors, at corners, and where the siding meets the roofline. That’s where the caulk and flashing are doing the work, and that’s what gives out first.

Inside, the tells are bubbling paint, a musty smell in a closet or corner, or a spot on the wall that shows up after a hard rain. If you’ve noticed any of that, it’s worth having someone look at the outside.

Blue sky, great crew, and a roof coming together in Eau Claire.

GAF Timberline HDZ in Hunter Green is going on this one. Most people default to a gray or black without ever considering anything else, and on an older home with this much character the green does a lot more for it.

The crew’s been at it since morning. Tall roof, lots of angles, nothing about it is quick. Worth doing right the first time.

Shafer, we’ve been spending a lot of time on your streets lately.

This one was a storm damage replacement, GAF Timberline HDZ in Charcoal. Here’s the thing about storm damage though. It doesn’t pick one house. If this roof took enough of a beating to need replacing, the houses around it probably took the same hit.

Most of that damage never shows up from the driveway. It shows up later, usually at the worst possible time.

Since our crews are already out your way, it’s an easy stop for us. Free inspection, honest answer, no pressure either way.

Those streaks drive people crazy, and the good news is they're usually more of an eyesore than an emergency.

Two things worth knowing. One, you'll almost always see it worst on the north-facing side, because that slope stays damp the longest. Two, please don't pressure wash it. A pressure washer will strip the granules right off your shingles and turn a cosmetic problem into a real one.

If your roof is streaking and you're not sure whether it's just algae or something that needs attention, that's an easy thing for us to settle for you.

Tec got the sign out, so you know what that means.

This St. Anthony home is officially on the books for a new roof. You can see the old one in the photo doing what old roofs do, slowly giving up. The homeowner got ahead of it instead of waiting for a stain on the ceiling to make the decision for them.

From here it's our job to handle the rest. Clean install, clean site, and our Lifetime Workmanship Warranty behind it.

Kong in Forest Lake left us one of those reviews you don't forget.

The part we're proudest of: when the shingles showed up with a defect, the owner called him personally and ordered new ones. Nobody would have known the difference for years. That's exactly why we build it better.

Fresh shingles and a sign that says completed. Good day in Forest Lake.

GAF Timberline HDZ in Birchwood on this one. It's a lighter, warmer shade that plays off the tan gable end and keeps the blue siding from feeling heavy. Pulls the whole front of the house together.
