One of the advantages to using glass is its durability, since global radiation has no effect on the durability or transmissivity of glass. Another advantage to glass is that it is highly transmissive for visible light – glass has a transmissivity of 89 % ~97 % with perpendicular light incidence and in a clean state.
There are three main classifications of Horticulture glass: float glass (low iron), diffused glass, and diffused + AR glass. Diffused glass (especially with AR treatment) has been widely used in recent years due to high light transmissivity, increased uniformity of the greenhouse climate, increased fruit production and fruit weight; increased flowering, and reduced production time of potted crops.
