Bilingual exhibits are becoming increasingly common in exhibits across the United States. Why is this so important to museums and their communities?
Bilingual exhibits promote inclusivity and make connections across demographics. Making art, history, science, and culture accessible to everyone is a core value shared by many museum professionalsâincluding us! We love that designing bilingual exhibits creates and opportunity to celebrate diversity, promote equity, and create a welcoming space for all!

Here is what The Alamo is saying about the exhibit: "This historic reopening of the Sacristy, featuring an immersive experience showcasing what the frescoes looked like during the Mission Era. Through media projections and soundscape, visitors will experience the serenity and reverence of a church service, the chaos and fear as families hid for their lives during the 1836 Battle of the Alamo, and the awe and wonder of modern-day conservators discovering the vibrant art that once adorned the walls.
Explus is proud of its work with Smithsonian Institution Traveling Exhibition Service on the traveling "Girlhood (It's Complicated)" Exhibition.
Developed by the Smithsonianâs National Museum of American History and the Smithsonian Institution Traveling Exhibition Service (SITES), âGirlhoodâ originally opened at the NMAH during the 100th anniversary of womenâs suffrage and was on view Oct. 9, 2020âJan. 2, 2022. The exhibition was supported by the Smithsonian American Womenâs History Initiative, the precursor of the Smithsonian American Womenâs History Museum.
Girls are made of strong stuff and theyâve been on the front lines of change throughout American history. Girlhood explores the diversity of girlsâ experiences and girls have impacted American history. SITES | SA encourages host venues to expand the exhibition by weaving in their collections and local history. Minnetrista developed two local focused sections: Right Here (right now) which focuses on modern stories of girlhood in East Central Indiana, and Nearby History (the local connection), which draw on local stories of girls from Minnetrista's Heritage Collection.
The exhibition will travel to three additional museums during a nearly two-year national tour: among them Cincinnati Museum Center, a Smithsonian AffiliateâOct. 12âJan. 14, 2024, and Minnesota History Center, St. PaulâAug. 31, 2024âMarch 16, 2025.

We recently went to Windsor, VT to update a section of the American Precision Museum. The building is said to be the first U.S. factory at which precision interchangeable parts were made, with a focus on guns, giving birth to the precision machine tool industry. Construction of the factory that houses the museum began in 1846. A "machine tool" is a machine which makes parts to other machines, such as screws or gun stocks. Lathes, milling machines, and drill presses are examples of precision machine tools. The museum has the largest collection of historically significant machine tools in the United States. We fabricated a display case and graphics that show the benefits of having interchangeable parts, including a couple of backlit window graphics.
On site setting up another Challenger Learning Center. Check back for some updated media on the install. Forman Le and craftsmen Dave and Evan.
