🌟 Project Highlight: Cobblestone Walkway Transformation in Leesburg, VA! 🌟

Last week, our crews worked in Leesburg, VA to bring this stunning new cobblestone walkway to life!

We started by removing the existing brick walkway and laying a solid base using 21A and concrete sand. The new walkway features the London Cobble Paver system in the elegant color "Jefferson." We also extended the walkway for easier access to the driveway.

Despite the high temperatures this week, it was a great reminder of how unwavering teamwork allowed us to help make the Renewal & Remembrance event in Arlington a success. Sunrise's President, Joe Markell, led our hard working team members with many other companies from across the country in several projects for this event:

> Drainage improvements to remove unappealing segmented blocks around large drains with the placement of stones around the outer perimeter of the drains to keep them functional and much more aesthetically pleasing.
> Removal of old clay pavers that had started to crumble, followed by installation of new clay pavers on the path to the flagpole that over looks the cemetery into Washington D.C.

Additionally, in collaboration with our partners at Sislers Stone, who supervised and donated numerous materials for the projects, we laid new flagstones and re-laid the base and existing flagstones around the two columbarium structures.

Today, Sunrise Landscape + Design proudly volunteered at Arlington Cemetery for the 28th Annual Renewal and Remembrance event, presented by the National Association of Landscape Professionals. Landscape professionals from all over the nation volunteer their time and skills each July to improve the grounds of Arlington National Cemetery and the American Disabled Veterans for Life Memorial, paying tribute to the men and women laid to rest there.

Extending a warm thank you Sislers Stone, we deeply appreciate your ongoing partnership and collaboration. It was an honor to return to Arlington this year and contribute to such a meaningful event!

Stunning back patio transformation in Ashburn, VA!

In just four weeks, our team crafted this 28'x28' patio complete with a Mini-Creta sitting wall, piped downspouts, and beautifully mulched turf areas. And let's not forget the custom wood-burning fireplace with veneer stone around all exposed sides – perfect for cozy evenings outdoors! 🔥🏡

: 🌊 Another Pond Repair Project in Reston, VA! 🌊

We recently completed a beautiful pond repair project for another customer in Reston, Virginia. There were several issues to restore and enhance this stunning water feature, but our team made it a success 🤩

🔧 Liner reconfiguration to adjust liner placement in four areas to stop water from escaping
🔧 Stone & soil grading to removed stones, improve water flow, and raise the liner height with additional dirt and stones
🔧 Filled the pond bottom with 1"-3" river jack stones to secure the liner and prevent degradation, then added more stones and boulders to cover the liner and improve the overall look
🔧 Trimmed vegetation, removed debris, and re-mulched disturbed areas with double shredded brown mulch
🔧 Filled the pond to its optimal level for a perfect finish

: Pond Transformation in Reston, VA!

We just completed an amazing pond repair project for a customer in Reston, Virginia. Here's what we did to rejuvenate their beautiful water feature:

💦 Power washed to restored the natural color of the stones and clean out debris
🔧 Removed the old waterfall pump vault and replaced with a pondless pump vault
🌊 Waterfall rebuild to the right side of the waterfall
🖤 Applied new black waterfall foam for improved structure and aesthetics.

Happy Friday after the rainy week we've had! 🥳💧 Yesterday, one of our dedicated crew members, Elvin, took time to water this freshly installed garden bed for one of our customers in Herndon, VA.

Even if the weatherman predicts rain, newly installed garden beds need consistent and proper watering, especially with warmer months on the horizon.

💡 Watering Tip: Chionanthus virginicus (Fringe Trees), Ilex glabra 'Shamrock' (Inkberry Holly), and Monarda Beebalm need consistent moisture - especially during dry spells. It's important to make sure the soil is kept evenly moist but not waterlogged, we want to establish a robust root system 😎
