It’s not everyday that we see an eight point buck on one of our DC job sites. Pretty cool! #Landscaping #teamcls #urbanwildlife #propertymanagement #condos
Our TRAQ Certified Arborist, Bill Munt, demonstrates using a resistograph. The resistograph uses a stainless steel drill bit. When the drill bit is pushed into the tree, the wood’s resistance to it is recorded on a strip of paper resembling an EKG. In this video, you’ll notice a jagged line as the bit penetrates the bark. The line soon flattens indicating no resistance. This means that the interior of this tree is almost completely hollow/decayed and needs to be removed as soon as possible. #trees #treecare #landscaping #communityassociation #teamcls #grounds #arborist #propertymanagement

Rain Rain go away!
Loudoun County is getting a serious downpour right now. It's a good time to do a drainage checkup! See before and afters below of CLS' recent drainage work in Ashburn!
Community Landscape, Commercial/Residential Hardscapes
Rain, rain, go away!
"When will our community get mowed?" is a question we've heard a good bit this month. This September has seen over 5" of rain in most of the Northern Virginia area. That coupled with the record rainfall for the year has often made for VERY unfavorable conditions for heavy machinery on turf.
During this unprecedented weather, CLS has been monitoring properties and mowing higher/less saturated areas when possible.
The photos below were taken on a non-CLS maintained site today that perfectly explain our "watch and wait" attitude. Better for the grass to get a little high than to have to deal with ugly rutting and torn up turf that will last WELL into the winter and next spring.
