MillStep Enterprises awards $1000 in scholarships to Santiam music endeavors

Rick Stepper at MillStep Enterprises construction is happy to announce that they have awarded $1000 to local youth music at Santiam High School.
One $500 music scholarship was awarded to Paige Hanna so that she can continue her theater education at Portland State University this fall. "I chose Paige for my first student scholarship because not only was she recommended by her teacher, but I'm personally very impressed with her abilities and her drive to further her theatrics education," said Rick Stepper.
Paige is currently working on her first professional production of Shout, The Mod Musical, which is on stage now at Enlightened Theatrics in Salem. This production will allow her to earn points to get benefits with a professional acting association. Her next performance will be Annie Get Your Gun at the Elsinore Theater.
The second $500 scholarship was awarded to Santiam High School's music program. Teacher Rob Harris and a group of active band students accepted the award on May 6th. They'll use the money to buy music and instruments.
This is the first year of an ongoing music and theater scholarship program from MillStep Enterprises. The program will be administered through Santiam High School. Future applicants can contact Rick Stepper at 503-507-8844. "I sang in the band and choir in high school," said Stepper. "I have a huge love of music and I'm happy to be able to contribute to the development of more young music students." Stepper is also an active member in the Santiam Canyon Community Chorus.
