Check your gutters this week.

If you are seeing what looks like coarse black sand collecting at the downspouts, those are granules off your shingles. A few after a new install is normal. A steady pile in year twelve is the roof telling you something.

Granules are the shingle's sunscreen. Once enough of them wash off, the asphalt underneath starts cooking, and after a hot Augusta County summer that happens faster than most people expect.

This does not mean you need a roof tomorrow. It means you should know where you stand before winter instead of after the first ice storm.

Free inspection, and if you have years left we will tell you that.

For three generations our family has had the privilege of putting roofs over the heads of hardworking families throughout Staunton, Waynesboro, Augusta County, and the Shenandoah Valley. We know that kind of work doesn’t happen without a crew that shows up, takes pride in the details, and does the job right.

This Labor Day, we’re especially thankful for the hardworking men and women on our team and for every tradesperson, business owner, farmer, first responder, and neighbor who puts in the work to make our Valley a great place to call home.
