๐ชฒ Watch for Spotted Lanternfly Egg Masses This Winter
Spotted lanternflies lay egg masses in the fall that remain on trees and outdoor surfaces all winter. Each one can contain 30โ50 eggs that will hatch in the spring.
They often look like small patches of dried mud and can show up on trees, fence posts, outdoor furniture, and even vehicles.
One simple way to help reduce the population is to scrape or smash these egg masses before they hatch. Removing them during the winter months can make a real difference before the next generation emerges.
