A motion alarm goes off at a contractor’s yard at 2 a.m.
With traditional monitoring, the operator receives a signal: the account, device and zone. With video verification, the operator can also see what caused the alarm.
That added context can make a difference:
• Operators can see what is happening before following response procedures
• Verified activity can be reported with more detail
• Non-threatening events can be identified, helping reduce unnecessary dispatches
• On sites with audio capabilities, operators can issue a live warning
Video verification doesn’t replace traditional alarm monitoring. It adds another layer of information that can be especially valuable for construction sites, contractor yards, auto dealerships, storage facilities and other higher-risk properties.
For alarm dealers, it can also provide an opportunity to expand services and generate additional revenue.
