Doing maintenance on a 1987 Carrier air conditioner. The fan motor has been replaced, but most of the parts are original!

Almost 40 years old, and still working fine. How many of the new, "energy efficient" systems last this long?

Unfortunately, a lot of perfectly good equipment is replaced because HVAC companies are good at upselling new systems.
