Gardens Tear Out #2 -

After the tear out of both areas, started grading out, cleaning up all the finer debris. Once everything was set, brought in 16 yards of screeened topsoil, 120lbs of grass seed, and began to top coat. During the topcoat process, got hit with a heavy rainfall, so brought in the Power Rake to help loosen a lot of the soil again, and also helping to mix in the first round of seeding. Hit the area with 3 rounds of seeding, Power Raked, hand raked, and now will let Mother Nature do the rest. The garden that was tore out along the house was just cleaned out, loosened up, and hand raked clean. The home owners plan on redoing that and making that back into a garden of their design.

Gardens Tear Out #1 -

These homeowners had some old over grown and lost gardens that just had to much going on. Tree branches, pavers, tree stumps, stump grinds, roots, ground cover, animal holes, and debris, it was a lot. But they wanted everything in the back, along the fence line, and behind the house tore out and cleaned up. Ended up hauling out 8 full dump trailers worth.

This home owner wanted to tear out an old Arborvitae garden and extend their pool patio further out. So tore out the stumps, old fence posts, and installed a 32’ x 5’ patio extension. There were a few tricky areas, 3 different concrete grades to match to, an aggressive slope to work on, and a drain gap so the pool water doesn’t flow towards the house. The home owner will be having the drain installed. After it was poured, came back, saw cut and sealed to finish it up. A fence company will be coming in to install fence along the concrete, then home owner plans to do something later on on the back side to butt up against stone and concrete to secure the stone from wash out.

I don’t normally do mowing. I typically stick with more Brush Hogging and Land Clearing. But sometimes I’ll take on a job where the home owners who are selling or transitioning into a home just can’t get to it, it gets a little to high for them, so they have me come in and knock it all down. This home owner had me hit this 1.5 acres of over grown lawn. The front half was about 1ft high, the back half was around 2-2.5ft high. Hit the front once, back half had to go over it 2-3 times with the mower. Was thinking about using the Brush Hog, but it was all just high grass, there was nothing in there to hardy that would have beat up the mower to much

This home owner had a fence that blew down over the winter they wanted replaced. Most of the posts were snapped off and was just lying in the yard. So after the clean up of the old fence, installed a new 90ft Dog Eared Picket fence.

Driveway Expansion #1 -

These homeowners wanted their driveway extended and redone, widening it out from 20-32ft. Started with digging out an old drain tile, dug a trench 25ft out from it, and filled it all with 6 ton of 5-6” Surge Stone for drainage. After that, graded out the driveway bringing a lot of the main driveway material over to the low grass areas. Then had 24 ton of 4” Crusher Run brought in to use as a base material and bring the grade up of the grass area to the existing driveway. Once everything was graded out, had 24 ton of 1” Crusher brought in to top the whole area. Home owners said they will roll it all themselves with their roller. Will be back at a later date to extend parking area along the side of the garage and to do topsoil and seed work along the whole driveway to taper it down to the grass line

Driveway Stone and Drainage #2 -

After everything was graded out, drainage installed, started adding Surge Stone. Put surge stone over French Drain along the driveway, over the drain at the top of the driveway, and put that and a mix of 2” Crusher over the end of the drain pipe to slow the flow of water and reduce erosion. Once that was done, finished grading out the 2” Crusher Run. Went with a 2” Crusher Run for a little more meat and stability as a base incase of heavy rains. I know the Finished pics aren’t the best do to the shadows casting on it, but it was more enjoyable have the sun out than getting rain on continuously

Driveway Drainage and Stone #1 -

This homeowner was having some serious water and erosion down his driveway and part of his parking area. Coming out of winter, heavy down pours, and aggressive grade makes it for a very intense flow that have cut deep canals everywhere. There was a drain and pipe installed up by the road to try to catch a lot of the water coming off the road, down the shoulder, but keeps getting covered over by stone and silt, making it a straight shot down the driveway. The homeowners driveway also follows the side of an aggressive hill, which also brings a lot of water to the driveway adding to the chaos. So, started things out by grading the driveway and parking area smooth, throwing in some French Drains, and clear off the drain at the top of the driveway to assess what that needs done.

We had quite an aggressive winter, trees came down everywhere. A lot of home owners have become more concerned about trees coming down on their homes and vehicles, this home owner decided to proactive with it. Been cleaning up trees already on the ground, but this was the first drop and removal to kick off the Season.
