🌺 It's hard to believe a flower this colorful is actually native to North America.

Indian Pink (Spigelia marilandica) has bright red flowers with yellow star-shaped centers that give it a tropical look, yet it's native to the southeastern United States. Blooming in late spring to early summer, it's also a favorite of Ruby-throated Hummingbirds.

Indian Pink thrives in partial to full shade, forms tidy clumps, and adds a burst of color just as many spring wildflowers begin to fade.

Do you have Indian Pink in your garden?

Didn’t winter sow? No problem. 🌱

Our new Beginner No-Stratification Seed Collection was designed specifically for beginners and includes 7 seed packets of easy-to-grow native wildflowers and grasses for home gardens.

Unlike many native seeds, these species do not require cold-moist stratification, meaning you can plant them now — even in summer. No refrigeration or complicated seed prep required.

Covers approximately 40 square feet and also makes a great gift for anyone interested in native plants but unsure where to start.

Available now on our website.

After Monday's storm, where did water pool in your yard?

Those soggy spots are perfect for a rain garden.

Instead of fighting the water, plant natives that can handle wet conditions and help soak up excess runoff—while turning the area into something that looks beautiful and provides nectar to pollinators.

Some rain garden-friendly plants we currently have in stock:
• Copper Iris (Iris fulva)
• Swamp Rose Mallow (Hibiscus moscheutos)
• Northern Blue Flag Iris (Iris versicolor)
• Common Hop Sedge (Carex lupulina)
• Lizard’s Tail (Saururus cernuus)
• Golden Alexander (Zizia aurea)
• Purple Coneflower (Echinacea purpurea)

For larger areas, we also offer a Rain Garden Seed Mix.

If you’re dealing with puddling after heavy rain, planting for it is one of the easiest long-term solutions.

If you’re in the St. Louis area, call us to place your order and schedule pickup. Or place an order online -- we’ll follow up to coordinate your shipping date.
