3 DIY fixes for a clogged laundry drain:

1️⃣ Clean the Trap. Place a bucket under the trap and open the seal. Remove the trap, rinse and replace it. Close the trap and reconnect the drain.

2️⃣ Mix and Pour. If fix #1 didn't clear it, the buildup is probably down deeper. Mix one pack of baking soda with a bucket of boiling water. Remove the hose and use a funnel to pour the mix down the drain. Let sit 10-15 minutes and follow with clean, hot water.

3️⃣ Snake the Drain. Still clogged? Remove the trap from the drainpipe and slide the snake all the way into the drain. Rotate and move the snake up and down to find the clog, then pull the tool up and out of the drain along with the clog.

No dice? The pipe itself may be the issue. Call 314-645-6350 (or click the link in the first comment) to schedule a professional drain cleaning.

When you arrive for a drain cleaning and find a plumbing plot twist… 👻

These pipes supply water to the home’s fixtures. Ideally, the lines are neatly routed, securely supported, and arranged so you can reach the shutoff valves without calling an exorcist.
