His work is at the forefront of a major cultural shift within an industry that faces one of the highest rates of mental health- and substance use-related deaths in the country. Through education, advocacy, and honest conversations, John is helping to break down stigma and create a culture where people feel supported, connected, and empowered to seek help when they need it.

Guarantee VP of Risk & Safety Todd Cook, who has worked closely with John at Guarantee and at IBEW Local 1, said: "His work is helping break down stigma, improve access to support, and create meaningful conversations around mental health and su***de prevention. Five years later, the incredible impact of Klays4Kids continues to grow.

Guarantee Electrical, alongside our valued Platinum Partners Graybar, McCarthy Building Companies, Inc., and S&S Striping & Signage, had the privilege of presenting a $130,000 donation to Children’s Hospital Colorado. This contribution was made possible through the success of our 5th Annual Klays4Kids Sporting Clay Shoot

The impact of Klays4Kids is a testament to what can happen when a community comes together around a shared purpose. Thank you for helping make our fifth year our most successful yet. We couldn't do it without you.

It started with one: What if one person gave just $1 per work hour for one week to support St. Louis Children's Hospital?

That ask became KIDstruction Week, and that one week, one company, and one dollar have grown into 15 years, more than 200 participating companies, and a record-breaking $1 million for kids and families at Children’s. Guarantee was proud to join partner AON in presenting this year’s record-breaking gift to a St. Louis Children’s patient ambassador last week.

This gift will help support life-saving medical research, world-class patient care, and the Child Life programs that bring families together for special experiences and let kids be kids.

One makes a difference—but the last 15 years have shown us we are at our best when we come together. This historic gift for kids and families is proof of that.

Guarantee Electrical and its partners have been honored with the St. Louis Business Journal's 2026 Innovation in Philanthropy award. It celebrated unprecedented public-private partnership between Guarantee, IBEW Local 1, NECA St. Louis, Graybar, PayneCrest Electric, ArchKey Solutions, Ameren Missouri, and the City of St. Louis on the tornado recovery program ReConnect STL.

The initiative is just one example of what's possible when neighbors come together to help neighbors. But this recognition doesn't mean our work is done. Even as the anniversary of the May 16, 2025, tornado approaches, recovery is nowhere near complete.

Guarantee Executive VP of External Affairs Emily Martin said: "This is going to take a long time. ... We’re sticking around, and we’re here for St. Louis."
