Completed in Benton Park, this 4,300-square-foot custom home was designed for a local couple who purchased a vacant lot to build their dream home.

Drawing inspiration from the neighborhood’s iconic 1880s factory buildings, the home blends industrial chic with contemporary living. Tall ceilings, exposed beams, expansive windows, and an open floor plan create bright, flexible spaces.

The home features three bedrooms, two full bathrooms, one half-bath, a full basement, and an Energy Star-qualified, super-insulated envelope paired with high-efficiency mechanical systems and appliances. Aluminum windows, hardwood flooring, and a brick veneer exterior complete the design, balancing durability, energy performance, and warm character.

Killeen Studio Architects is proud to announce the design of a new 165-unit multifamily community at the corner of Missouri and Chouteau Avenues. Rising five stories above a parking and amenity podium, the development introduces contemporary urban living to St. Louis' iconic, architecturally rich Lafayette Square neighborhood.

The building will transform what is currently a parking lot and is part of a broader neighborhood initiative to restore and strengthen this northwestern edge of Lafayette Square, creating a more connected transition between the neighborhood and Downtown St. Louis.

Working closely with the City of St. Louis' Cultural Resources Office and Preservation Board, the design reflects elements and materials of Lafayette Square's built environment while establishing a distinct identity at this prominent corner.

Upon completion, residents will enjoy extensive amenities, including:

• 5,000-square-foot fitness center
• Golf simulator
• Resident market, public café and bistro
• Coworking spaces and meeting rooms
• Top-floor club room
• Dog spa
• 2,000-square-foot resort-style pool
• Nearly 19,000-square-foot pool deck designed for gathering, recreation, and relaxation

As the companion building to the successful 2200 LaSalle—currently 98% leased—the project draws inspiration from neighboring 2300 LaSalle while establishing its own architectural presence within the district.

We're grateful to our client, Graddy Investments of St. Louis, the Lafayette Square neighborhood, and the many collaborators whose partnership helped shape this vision.

Excited to share that Blues City Deli is making improvements to its iconic storefront in Benton Park. With a line that wraps around the building’s corner at lunch time, BCD enlisted Killeen Studio to draft plans for a new sun shade awning.

A new chapter for this Lafayette Square painted lady. By raising the mansard roof and adding dormers, this historic home gained a full floor addition equipped with bedrooms, living space and deck. With this vertical addition, the home matches its taller neighbors to the north and south on Mississippi Avenue.

Designed for an urban infill site in St. Louis, this contemporary residence balances efficiency, natural light, and a warm material palette.

Central to the design is a focus on light, materiality, and connection. Expansive street-facing windows engage the surrounding neighborhood while bringing daylight deep into the home. Bamboo flooring, blond brick, and corrugated metal siding introduce warmth and texture, complementing the home's clean lines and framing-efficient layout.
