INTERNSHIP SPOTLIGHT: We're proud to recognize Kamryn Staten, a recent graduate of Pattonville High School and North Tech, where he completed the Construction Trades program. Kamryn is also one of CCDI's 2026 Build Our Future Scholarship recipients and will begin the next chapter of his journey this fall at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE), where he will pursue a degree in Construction Management.

This summer marks Kamryn's second internship with Concrete Strategies LLC. Returning for a second year, Kamryn has had the opportunity to expand his experience by working alongside the CSI office team, giving him valuable insight into the planning, coordination, and collaboration that keep projects moving from start to finish. One of the greatest benefits of an internship is seeing the many career paths within our industry. By experiencing both the field and office environments, Kamryn is developing a well-rounded understanding of construction that will serve him well as he begins college and prepares for a career in the industry.

A sincere thank you to Concrete Strategies for continuing to invest in Kamryn's growth and for welcoming him back for a second summer. We'd also like to recognize the incredible team members who made this internship possible by taking the time to mentor, teach, and encourage Kamryn throughout the summer. This summer, our CS University interns took on a case study built around our Leavenworth project - digging into real scope, real challenges, and real decisions our teams face on the job every day.

For six weeks, they worked hand-in-hand with mentors across Concrete Strategies, building not just technical know-how but the kind of hands-on, on-the-ground experience you can't get from a textbook.

Then they raised their game even further: traveling to our St. Louis headquarters to present their findings and recommendations in person - standing in front of CSI leadership and owning the room.

The confidence, the preparation, and the quality of thinking these interns brought to the table says a lot about the future of this industry - and about the kind of talent we're proud to invest in.

To our interns: thank you for your hard work, your curiosity, and your willingness to jump in. To our mentors: thank you for showing up week after week to guide, challenge, and champion this next generation.

Today, our Concrete Strategies family at our project in Santa Teresa, NM had the opportunity to celebrate National Intern Day by taking our three outstanding interns - Max, David, and Irving - out for an early dinner at Kaeda, followed by some friendly competition at Topgolf.

To make the transition back to college a little easier, we also surprised each of them with a gift basket to help them as they begin the next chapter of their journey.

We’re grateful for the hard work, positive attitudes, and dedication these future leaders have shown during their time with us. We wish them continued success in school and throughout their future careers. Keep working hard, stay safe, and never stop learning!

Meet Owen, Field Engineer Intern, working on the Cortex Iris Apartments project in St. Louis and studying at Mizzou.

This summer, Owen has been supporting the project team as a field engineer intern, assisting with daily job reports and documenting PTSA activities. His favorite part of the experience has been seeing the progress made on site each day and comparing it to the photos he took on day one.

Throughout the summer, Owen has learned the importance of paying close attention to what's happening around him, listening carefully, and asking questions whenever he's unsure. One of his biggest takeaways is that everyone at Concrete Strategies wants you to succeed—they're always willing to help as long as you're willing to learn and put in the effort.

We're proud to have Owen on the team and look forward to seeing all he accomplishes!

Yesterday, Concrete Strategies was proud to host our Safety Lunch at our project in NM and treat our subcontractor partners to a well-deserved meal.

A big thank you to The Original Juarez Dogs for serving up their amazing bacon-wrapped footlongs loaded with grilled onions, chili beans, nacho cheese, and topped with crushed Hot Cheetos and Doritos. They were definitely a crowd favorite!

Thank you to everyone on site for your continued commitment to working safely every day. We appreciate the hard work, teamwork, and dedication that goes into making this project a success.

Meet Caleb, one of our Project Engineer Interns and a student at Missouri State University!

This summer, Caleb has gained experience both in the office and in the field, giving him a well-rounded look at what it takes to keep projects moving. From tracking rebar and concrete deliveries, reviewing project costs, and working with schedules to assisting with site layout alongside our field engineers, he's building valuable skills that extend far beyond the classroom.

We're proud to have Caleb on the team this summer and can't wait to see where his experience takes him.
