🎓🏗️ Celebrating KWAME’s 2026 Summer Interns!

On August 7, our Summer Interns wrapped up their final day at Kwame Building Group, Inc. by delivering presentations reflecting on their experiences, growth, and lessons learned throughout the summer.

Since joining KWAME in May, our interns have gained valuable exposure to the construction industry through jobsite visits, observing trades, attending meetings, shadowing industry professionals, and completing hands-on assignments. Along the way, they strengthened important skills such as communication, teamwork, professionalism, time management, problem-solving, organization, and attention to detail.

Their final presentations allowed each intern to share their biggest lessons, proudest accomplishments, challenges they overcame, and how the experience has influenced their educational and career goals.

At KWAME, we believe investing in the next generation is an investment in the future of our industry and our community. We are proud of everything our interns accomplished this summer and grateful to the KWAME team members who served as mentors, supervisors, and resources throughout their journey.

Congratulations to our 2026 Summer Interns (Brandon Nunley-Mills, Asher Littleton, Alex McCloud, and Journey Pollard) on a job well done! We look forward to seeing where your next steps take you.

Today, July 14, we proudly honor the annual "Tyrone Thompson Service Holiday" at Kwame Building Group, Inc.

Established in 2010, the "Tyrone Thompson Service Holiday" was created in memory of Anthony "Tony" Thompson, Kwame Thompson, and Sonja Lemmie's brother, Tyrone Thompson, whose life was tragically taken during a robbery. Although his life was cut short, Tyrone's legacy of service, leadership, and compassion continues to inspire us.

Tyrone was a former Police Chief, President of the St. Louis Support Group for Nonviolence and Social Change, and a dedicated community leader who devoted his life to serving others and uplifting those in need. His unwavering commitment to making St. Louis a better place serves as a lasting example of the impact one person can have through selfless service.

Each year on this day, the KWAME family pauses to honor Tyrone's memory by giving back to the communities we serve. The Tyrone Thompson Service Holiday is more than a day of volunteerism—it's a reflection of our company's values and our ongoing commitment to making a positive difference throughout the St. Louis region.

Today, we remember Tyrone's legacy by continuing his mission of service, leadership, and community impact. We have partnered with Central Baptist Church to donate and distribute pre-assembled care packages for those in need.

The home office will be closed for the day and reopen tomorrow at 8 am.

Happy Juneteenth from Kwame Building Group, Inc.

Today, we commemorate Juneteenth, a day that marks the end of slavery in the United States and honors the resilience, perseverance, and achievements of Black Americans throughout history.

At KWAME, we recognize that building stronger communities extends beyond construction. It includes fostering opportunity, championing equity, and creating spaces where people and communities can thrive.

As we reflect on the significance of this day, we celebrate the progress that has been made while reaffirming our commitment to helping build a more inclusive future for generations to come.

Happy Juneteenth!

Marian Middle School students recently explored careers in construction, engineering, and project management during a visit from KWAME Building Group professionals. The session, organized with The Links, Inc. and NSBE, offered demonstrations and Q&A about the building industry. Seeing women of color in these roles inspired students to consider fields where they are historically underrepresented. 👷🏽‍♀️ Inspiring future leaders! 💡
