Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Performs materials handling and storage.
Ensures that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are being followed. Brings any problems to the attention of the truck manager.
Perform other job duties as assigned.
Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions.
Collect delivery instructions daily from the Truck Manager, verifying instructions and routes.
Secure cargo for transport using ropes, blocks, chains, binders, or covers.
Maintain logs of working hours and of vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the vehicles immediately.
Must plan route to insure most economical use of time and equipment.
Work with traffic control to ensure all safety procedures are being followed and not disrupting traffic or causing potential hazard to other vehicles and pedestrians.
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works in outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, cold weather conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals and vibrations. The noise level is generally quiet while driving, but loud once in the field.

Full Time position. 50 hours minimum with overtime every week. Monday-Friday, 630am – 5pm, hours may vary depending on work demands. Occasional Saturdays may be required.

VanCon works year-round and you'll be home every night.

Tasks will include but aren't limited to:

-Weekly maintenance on company vehicles/heavy and small machinery
-Repairs on company pick-up trucks, semi -trucks, and heavy and small machinery
-Capable of performing oil changes, lubrications, maintenance, greasing machinery
-Changing brakes and tires
-Have your own tools
-Performs work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with factory standards.
-Diagnoses cause of any malfunction and performs repair.
-Communicates with service advisor/dispatcher immediately if additional work is needed, if work outlined is not needed, or if repairs cannot be completed within the promised time.
-Documents all work performed and recommended on the repair order.
-Road tests vehicles when required.
-Participates in manufacturer-sponsored training programs.
-Reports machinery defects or malfunctions to supervisor.
-Ensures that vehicle is kept clean. Notifies service advisor/dispatcher immediately of anything that has happened to change the appearance or condition of the vehicle.
-Operates all tools and equipment in a safe manner.
Reports any safety issues immediately to management.
-Replacing or repairing tires.
-Collecting and recording equipment hours quarterly.
-Checking driver's inspection sheets.
-Performs preventative maintenance.

Full-Time position - 50 hours minimum with overtime every week. Normal schedule will be Monday-Friday, 7 AM- 5 PM, depending on work demands. Occasional Saturdays may be required.

Qualifications

Requires minimum 8 year of mechanic knowledge/experience
Diesel Engine, Truck & Heavy Equipment Mechanics (5 Years Required)
Must pass a background check, driving record check, drug screening and E-Verify.

Join beams in the construction of buildings, bridges, and other structures
Fitting and welding of structural steel pipe, plate & sheet metal
Fabrication and welding of structural steel.

Work Environment
While performing this job, the employee will either work in a maintenance shop or out in the field. It can be a mixture of both as well. The employee frequently works near moving mechanical equipment. When working in the field, they can be exposed to wet, cold, heat, or humid conditions and vibrations. The employee occasionally works in high, precarious places and is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risks of electrical shock. The noise level in the field environment is usually loud.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Expected hours of work are Monday-Friday, 7:00am – 5:00pm. With overtime available upon demand of work.

Job Summary - Performs tasks involving physical labor at construction projects. The position may operate a variety of hand and power tools and may clean and prepare sites, dig trenches, set braces to support the sides of excavations, erect scaffolding, clean up rubble and debris, and remove waste materials. Assist crew with laying pipe for water mains, storm, or sanitation sewers. Lay pipe for storm or sanitation sewers, drains, and water mains. Perform any combination of the following tasks: grade trenches or culverts, position pipe, or seal joints.

Responsibilities

Check slopes for conformance to requirements, using levels or lasers.
Cover pipes with earth or other materials.
Connect pipe pieces and seal joints, using welding equipment, cement, or glue.
Cut pipes to required lengths.
Install or repair sanitary or storm water sewer structures or pipe systems.
Install or use instruments such as lasers, grade rods, or transit levels.
Grade or level trench bases, using tamping machines or hand tools.
Lay out pipe routes, following written instructions or blueprints and coordinating layouts with supervisors.
Align and position pipes to prepare them for welding or sealing.
Dig trenches to desired or required depths, by hand or using trenching tools.
Operate mechanized equipment, such as pickup trucks, rollers, tandem dump trucks, front-end loaders, or backhoes.
Locate existing pipes needing repair or replacement, using magnetic or radio indicators.
Train or supervise others in laying pipe.
Tap and drill holes into pipes to introduce auxiliary lines or devices.

1-3 years of Pipe laying experience preferred
