The Harvest Food Drive is back THIS Friday and Saturday, and we need your help to make a difference for students in our community!

In partnership with the Central Illinois Building and Construction Trades Council, we’re collecting donations to support Springfield Public Schools District 186 and help ensure local students have food to eat at home.

Meet Craig Olsen, a plumbing/piping foreman who has worked for E.L. Pruitt Co. since 2010. He and his wife Stephanie live in Buckhart. They enjoy spending time with their kids Carter, Anthony, Gianna and grandson Daxton Dane plus their two dogs, Blue and Maze.

Update! Next phase is underway in Chatham with our crew running storm and sanitary piping across the site for the new Municipal Center. Once that's in, we head down into the basement to start the plumbing there.

When it opens in 2027, this building will put Chatham's Police Department, Village Hall & emergency dispatch under one roof.

Thanks for the post. We appreciate the opportunity to partner with you and the Springfield Park District for this project.

Energy efficiency is only part of the conversation. 💬

The real opportunity comes when you take the time to understand how a facility operates today and how the customer will need to maintain them into the future.

For the Springfield Park District, we were looking at RTU replacements with energy efficiency in mind. But as we dug deeper, we identified an even bigger opportunity: move the RTUs from the roof to the ground.

That one decision created several long-term benefits:
✅ Easier and safer access for future maintenance
✅ Less equipment on the roof when it’s time for the next roof replacement
✅ Reduced long-term maintenance challenges

At AFP we believe the best projects start with understanding the whole problem, not just the equipment that needs replaced.

This project is also a great example of what can happen when the right people are at the table. We’re proud to be working alongside E.L. Pruitt Mechanical Contractors as part of this project.

When you take the time to learn what’s really happening, discuss the associated solutions, and think beyond the initial project, you end up with not only a happy customer but a solution that makes sense for the long haul.
