Today I had the pleasure of channeling my inner bog monster ๐ง. We took a field trip to Valley Water Mill today to learn about storm water management and floating wetlands! ๐๐ฑ โฆ. Did you know every 250 sqft of floating wetland is equivalent to 1 acre of natural wetland in regards to nutrient remediation? How magical โจ. We got to help build one today thanks to Grow Native and Watershed Committee of the Ozarks, Inc..
ALSO as somebody who worked extensively with hydroponics in my college era, please give me space to nerd out on this substrate! What appears to be white limestone rock is actually glass processed in a way to where it turns into basically a rock shaped packing peanut that holds the plants in place on the floating wetland. โจโจ
