Chloe joins us after spending the past two summers interning with a Philadelphia-based architecture firm, where she contributed to cultural, educational, and institutional projects, including work involving historic preservation and adaptive reuse.

A recent University of Pennsylvania Weitzman School of Design, Chloe holds master's degrees in both Architecture and City Planning. Her graduate thesis examined an alternative mode of architecture, situated in Indigenous ecology and design theory, as a tool for creating climate resilient design in solidarity with the ecosystem. Her research also explored how engagement with Indigenous communities can inform climate resilient designs that help promote and protect sense of place, history, and community.

Dietz & Company Architects helped the City of Chicopee restore its historic former library building and turn it into a multi-use civic space now known as The Hub at Market Square. Our design carefully blended restoration of the historic architecture with contemporary materials, creating a beautiful balance between old and new. The project also included a new accessible entrance and elevator, along with energy-efficient building upgrades, ensuring this stately building is welcoming, functional, and sustainable for years to come.

We love being part of projects that preserve local history and create places for communities to come together!

🏗️Project Update: Essex Village
Construction at Essex Village in Holyoke, MA is racing toward the finish line and these new homes will welcome their first residents in just a couple of months!

We're proud to be working with our client, , on this multifamily housing development that is creating much-needed housing for Holyoke and contributing to the continued growth and revitalization of the surrounding community.

An exciting new chapter is officially underway for the former Manchester Parkade site in Manchester, CT!

On June 24, Dietz & Company Architects joined project partners and community leaders for the groundbreaking ceremony for Silk City Commons. The long-awaited ceremony marked the transformation of the former shopping center site into a vibrant mixed-use development.

Silk City Commons will bring 232 new market-rate housing units, along with resident amenities including a clubhouse with community gathering spaces, a fitness center, outdoor pool and patio, rentable function room, and more. The development will also include retail opportunities along Broad Street and a multi-use recreation trail along Bigelow Brook.

We’re proud to be part of a project that is bringing new life and opportunities to this long-vacant site and are excited to watch the buildings take shape!

Construction is expected to be completed in 2028.

Dietz & Company Architects is excited to welcome Alvana Abedini as our newest Design Associate!

A recent Master of Architecture graduate from the University of Hartford, Alvana brings a thoughtful design approach focused on the connections between architecture, culture, community, and place. Her graduate thesis explored cultural preservation through craftsmanship, storytelling, and intergenerational exchange culminating in the design of a Center for Craftsmanship and Learning in Albania. Her professional experience has included work for firms in CT on residential and mixed-use projects.

We’re excited to have Alvana join our team and look forward to the creativity and perspective she will bring to our projects.

🎉 Congratulations to Soniha Nuzrat, LEED AP BD+C! 🎉

Dietz & Company is happy to share that Soniha Nuzrat has earned the credential of LEED Accredited Professional with a Building Design and Construction (LEED AP BD+C) specialty through the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC). As a Design Associate in our Springfield office, Soniha works on projects in the multi-family housing, higher education, and municipal sectors. This achievement is evidence of her commitment to sustainability and green design. On her decision to pursue LEED certification, Soniha said:

🗣️“I wanted to pursue the LEED AP BD+C credential to bridge the gap between architectural form and environmental performance. Seeing high-performance engineering seamlessly elevate human-centered environments inspired me to design in harmony with nature. I believe sustainability belongs at the inception of design by embedding energy efficiency, material life cycles, and environmental performance into the earliest concepts. My goal is to bring this holistic perspective to every project, creating beautiful, functional spaces that uplift communities while protecting the ecosystems that sustain us.”

Last week, Springfield Technical Community College held a groundbreaking ceremony for the new facility for its School of Health and Patient Simulation!

In collaboration with our friends at Lavallee Brensinger Architects, Dietz & Company is working on this exciting renovation project that is transforming the space into a state-of-the-art facility designed to support the next generation of healthcare professionals.

The new facility will relocate STCC’s School of Health and Patient Simulation and include the nationally accredited SIMS Medical Center, classrooms, labs, and clinical spaces that will enhance hands-on learning opportunities for students.

We’re excited to help bring this vision to life and support STCC’s commitment to innovative healthcare education and our region's healthcare workforce!

Springfield Technical Community College held a celebration this afternoon for a groundbreaking ceremony to mark the relocation of its School of Health and Patient Simulation.

Recently some of the Dietz staff teamed up with Airtight Energy Consulting to conduct an energy and compartmentalization review of the under-construction Clover Apartments in South Hadley, MA. This review addressed use of best practices for air sealing details and wall assembly intersections for future blower door testing and to make sure the project's contractor, Western Builders, Inc. has all the details they need for successful construction.

The review found things are currently going to plan with no conditions to be corrected and it was also a great learning opportunity for staff who got a chance to see how everything comes together in-person!
