WINTER STORM PRECAUTIONS
A winter storm is forecasted to impact our area this weekend. We want to help everyone stay safe as conditions are predicted to worsen.
🚗 Travel Safety
If you must travel, ensure your vehicle is winter-ready and stocked with essential emergency supplies, including:
• Extra blankets and warm clothing
• Food and water
• Flashlight and phone charger
• Ice scraper, shovel, and traction aids if available
🏠 Home Preparation
Frigid temperatures can cause serious damage if homes aren’t prepared. Please take a few preventative steps now:
• Drip interior faucets, especially those on exterior walls
• Open sink cabinets to allow warm air to circulate around plumbing
• Confirm heating systems are working properly
• Bring pets indoors and check on elderly or vulnerable neighbors
🚓 Emergency Response Continues
While we urge the public to limit travel, emergency service personnel and Sheriff’s Office staff will remain on duty and ready to respond to emergencies throughout the storm. Reducing unnecessary travel helps keep roads clearer and allows first responders to reach those who need help most.
Please continue to monitor local forecasts and follow guidance from emergency officials. Smart preparation now can prevent emergencies later.
Stay safe. Stay warm. Stay informed.
