Love this!!

Design and function meet in this laundry room. Lots of custom pieces in this project.

You ever look at your kitchen and think, “You know what this place needs? A little something special!” 😂

Well, folks, nothing says the American Dream quite like a brand-new backsplash!

We’re talking tile, grout, spacers, and enough measuring to make a grown man question every decision that led him to this moment.

And just like Clark Griswold hanging Christmas lights, you start out thinking, “This oughta be a nice, simple little project!”

Six hours later, you’re arguing with a wall that’s not square, an outlet that’s in the worst possible location, and a piece of tile that’s somehow an eighth of an inch too short. 🤣

BUT BY GOLLY, WHEN IT ALL COMES TOGETHER… SHE’S A BEAUT, CLARK! 😍

Seriously, though, it’s amazing what a new backsplash can do for a kitchen. No need to tear the whole place apart or take out a second mortgage. Just a little upgrade that makes a BIG difference!

So if your kitchen is looking a little more Cousin Eddie than Beverly Hills, give us a call! We’ll get her looking like the Griswold family Christmas before Clark plugs in the lights. 🎄😂

Well… it’s finally done. 😂🔨

After an unreasonable amount of lumber, concrete, measuring, re-measuring, questioning my life choices, and staring at it from 47 different angles…

The most iconic fence in Republic, Missouri is officially complete.

Is it actually the most iconic fence in Republic?

Absolutely.

Do I have any evidence to support that claim?

Absolutely not.

But look at this thing. Horizontal. Decorative top. Built like it’s preparing for a category 5 hurricane to roll through Republic.

If you drive by and admire it, honk! Thank you!

If you drive by and don’t like it, please continue driving. 😂

Apparently we build fences now worthy of local landmarks.

We don’t just work on houses — we work on campers too! 🏕️🔨

And if Clark Griswold taught us anything, it’s that the family vacation can always use a few upgrades. 😂

A few we’ve tackled lately:

🎨 Freshly painted cabinets
🚽 Exterior waste-hose storage — because Cousin Eddie taught us some things belong outside the camper.
🎣 Custom under-camper fishing pole storage to keep rods protected and out of the way.

Whether it’s updating, repairing, or figuring out a custom solution, Finley River Handyman can help get your camper ready for the next family adventure.

Garage door trim needed stained.

Most people probably look at it and think, “Eh, I’ll get to it eventually.”

We looked at it and took it personally.

A little prep. A little stain. A completely unnecessary amount of standing back with our hands on our hips admiring it afterward.

Is it just garage door trim? Yes.

Does it now look like the best damn garage door trim in the neighborhood?

Also yes.

New deck, fresh stain, and one less thing to worry about when Missouri weather decides to do what it does best. 😂

This one didn’t need a big makeover—it was already in great shape. It just needed some stain to protect the wood and give it a nice finished look.

Turned out pretty darn good if we say so ourselves.

Nothing too Griswold happened on this job. No ladders flying through windows, no squirrels in the house, and thankfully no Cousin Eddie pulling up in the RV. 😂

If you’ve got a newer deck that still needs stained, give Finley River Handyman a shout. We’d be happy to get it taken care of!

🍂 Fall is the perfect time to protect your deck before winter arrives.

We’ve officially completed another deck project of the year, and our limited September and October schedule is now open for deck cleaning and staining.

If your deck is:
✔️ Looking faded or weathered
✔️ Turning gray
✔️ Slippery from algae or mildew
✔️ Ready for a fresh coat of stain

…now is the time to get it taken care of. Cooler fall temperatures are ideal for many staining products, and protecting the wood before winter can help extend the life of your deck.

At Finley River Handyman Repair, we thoroughly power wash, prep, and stain each deck with attention to detail so it looks great and stays protected.
