Chris, Inside Sales Representative, Lenexa, Kan.
Some days on a jobsite are rough. Chris knows the counter can be where that changes.
"Someone can be having a tough day on a jobsite and being able to crack a smile or just have a simple conversation can really turn their day around," he says.
He backs up the friendly conversation with practical help. When he can tell a customer is in a bind, he pulls their order in advance so they're in and out as fast as possible.
His coworkers say he's known for having "the best hair in Lenexa." No one has verified this, and no one has challenged it. Off the clock, Chris is deep into aquariums and fish keeping, and he can talk about it for 10 minutes with no prep.

Katrina, Customer Success Manager, Kansas City
For Katrina, customer success isn't about a dashboard. It's about relationships.
"So many of my customers have become friends," she says, "and I genuinely look forward to catching up with them, hearing what's going on in their lives, and of course, doing a little BS'ing along the way."
Her goal is to make doing business with cfm as easy and stress-free as possible, so customers can focus on their own work.
Katrina is just as hands-on at home. Her hidden talent is DIY renovation, the serious kind: knocking down walls, starting from scratch and rebuilding room by room from the ground up. Anyone who has lived through a remodel will appreciate that.

Jeremy, Assistant Branch Manager, Des Moines
Jeremy's customer service philosophy fits in four words: "Always listen to listen."
That means letting customers explain what they're working on before he recommends anything, then offering the items that fit their needs. His favorite part of the job is making projects easier and making sure customers leave with everything they need to finish.
It makes sense that he understands projects. His hidden talent is repairing just about anything, whether it's a tool, a build or something that's broken.
His first job was washing dishes at a local bar where his dad was head cook. Six years into his time at cfm, he's still the guy who makes sure things get done right.

Jessica, Warranty & Post-Sales Support Specialist, Kansas City
Nobody gets excited about filing a warranty claim. Jessica's goal is to make it the easiest part of a contractor's week.
"We strive to make the warranty claims process a quick, positive experience," she says. Her team processes the claims, provides tracking and issues credits, so contractors aren't left wondering where things stand.
Around the office, Jessica is known for her love of the color purple. If you're looking for her desk, that's your hint. And if you want to talk for 10 minutes straight, bring up Gilmore Girls, her favorite show of all time.

Jared, Business Development Manager, Kansas City
Before Jared talks products, he asks questions.
"Find out what is important to them, how they want to do business, and set them up to use our resources to be successful," he says.
Business development, for Jared, is about growth, and not just cfm's. His favorite part of the job is "the ability to help them grow their business and solve problems that they currently have."
Distribution has been in the picture for a while: his first job was at a carpet distributor in high school. He also holds a title his coworkers take seriously, cfm co****le champion. Challengers welcome, presumably.

Jen, Director of Marketing, Kansas City
Twenty-two years at cfm. In that time, Jen has helped build marketing into a full-service resource for contractors, one that supports customers well beyond the sale.
"Whether they need help promoting their business, understanding available programs, or finding the right marketing resources, we're here to help make those things easier," she says.
Her bigger goal is for customers to feel they have a team behind them. "We want our customers to feel like they have a team they can reach out to," she says. "We're here to save them time and make doing business with cfm easier."
Off the clock, you'll find Jen at a concert, at her buddy's brewery, or at home with her dogs and family.

Every HVAC job depends on a long list of things going right: the right equipment, the right part and the right timing. What the invoice doesn't show is the people who make sure those things happen.

At cfm, those people are the reason we say we're more than a distributor.

Over the next few weeks, we're introducing you to some of them. You'll meet counter pros who know how much your time on the clock is worth, territory managers who won't say "I don't know" until they've checked every option, and the behind-the-scenes team that keeps warranty claims, marketing programs and operations running smoothly.

They work across our branches in Kansas City, Lenexa, Wichita, Springfield, Des Moines and Omaha. Some joined us last year; one has been here for 34 years. Altogether, the people in this series bring more than 100 years of experience at cfm.

They're also more than their job titles. You'll meet a co****le champion, a soccer coach, a man who can build a house, and at least one very good turkey impression.

Products move through a lot of warehouses. Relationships are what bring contractors back, and that's the story we want to tell.
