We now seal chimney caps against leakage.

A lot of customers have leaks from their chimney brick or cap. In the past we have referred people to chimney specialists for this, but this seemed pretty inconvenient to customers so we now can do this for you. It involves cleaning the brick and cap, sealing any visible cracks, then applying two coats of special sealer.

If you have water leaks in the ceiling around your chimney it is likely to be coming from the bricking and/or cap.

Remember to clean your gutters this fall. As the leaves deteriorate they turn to dirt/mud which further plugs your gutters and can lead to leaks.

Older roofs need repair occasionally. This wet spot on the underside of a roof resulted in water dripping down onto the dining room ceiling, soaking through the drywall and causing a stain and wet damage. One loose nail in a low spot at a roof vent caused it.
