You see all these companies pushing the batteries for your house and claim that they're so great, so much better than a generator based on cost. What they don't tell you is depending on the load in your house, they will probably only last you a day or 2 at the most. Maybe a great item if you are in California, but if you're in Texas, like, we are, you need something that is going to last much longer. Now you can buy a generator to charge your batteries, but that 's kind of counterproductive. Generators can run continuously with a little bit of maintenance and checking the oil. We have a Generac generator at our shop that has about 400 hours on it. Because it ran for 8 consecutive days during hurricane beryl. Every time our power goes out, the generator powers our office without any issues. You make a choice, what is best for you. The next hurricane we have with a prolonged outage. Everybody with batteries will be very unhappy.
