Fried Chicken Pepper!

Yes, you read that right.

FRIED CHICKEN PEPPER!!!šŸ—

Not for sale as fresh pods/peppers ā€” however this is one of the four orange peppers that go into my orange heat level.

Created by Italian breeder Rocco Maltesi as a cross between 7 Pot Bubblegum and Jayā€™s Peach Ghost Scorpion. The pods ripen to a vivid orange and develop that wild blistered, bumpy skin that looks exactly like crispy fried chicken.

Heat sits right where I want the orange level: hotter than a habanero, but not as hot as a ghost or scorpion.

Calling all chocolate lovers who like a little heat (and spice lovers who canā€™t resist chocolate)ā€¦

Two brand-new limited-run items just came out of the kitchen, made with our own Illinois-grown peppers:

šŸ”„ Hot Cookies ā€“ Chocolate chip cookies with Orange Heat
ļ潚Ÿ”„ Hot Bread ā€“ Chocolate Twist Bread with dried sweetened cranberries + Orange Heat

Both have that balanced heat we likeā€”present but not overpowering. Real chocolate, real ingredients, and our hot salt from peppers we grow without chemical pesticides.

Bread quantities are very limited, so if you want a loaf, get there early.

Martinā€™s Peppers ā€“ regular sandwich loaf is live and cinnamon twist is pending and approval from the Health Dept.

Spicy sandwich loaves in the five heat levels youā€™ve come to love. Tested and cleared for French toast, grilled cheese, butter toast, croutons, and sandwiches. Solid all-purpose texture.

Also rolling out a twisty cinnamon loaf sometime soon.
In house it passed the toast-and-butter test with flying colors. French toast evaluation still pending.

Weatherā€™s keeping me off the Mendota Farmers Market this round, but both are still moving.
Local delivery available.
