A roof truss is basically a giant, heavy-duty wooden triangle designed to hold weight…aka a roof.

While the house in the woods was right in the middle of getting the trusses installed, the universe decided to throw a bit of a plot twist our way.Due to an unexpected detour, there will be a temporary pause until middle of next week.

Here is the scoop: we had a bit of an accidental tumble on site. The bad news? It paused production. The good news? It could have been a lot worse. Everyone is going to be fine!For right now, the official doctor’s orders are strictly:
⏰ Time (to heal up)
🛏️ Rest (and lots of it)
💊 Pain medicine

We truly appreciate everyone's patience and positive vibes while the boss mends. We will be back to turning triangles into a home before you know it!

Staining a board is not like painting it. Paint sits on top, hiding what lies beneath. Staining is a slow, steady revealing process that shows the character of the wood. We are staining the pine timber frame that will be apart of the back porch for the house in the woods.

The first vertical part of the strong structure is coming together. Soon it will be time for the trusses. Think of it as playing giant Tetris with a roof. 🏗️

There is plenty of work ahead, and we can’t wait to show you progress with the house in the woods.

Well, well, well, look who showed up again. It is Friday of course, and it has been a hot but productive week!

We have to work our way from the bottom to get to the top. The basement beams and the floor trusses are set! Keep checking in for updates, next will be the floor sheathing. 👍🏻

Concrete was poured for this garage apron to connect the garage to the driveway. This is also helpful to get the lawn mower in and out of this area. 👀
