On September 11, 2001, 2,977 innocent lives were lost. Families were shattered, heroes emerged, and countless Americans answered an unimaginable call to serve. In the days that followed, we were reminded that even in our darkest hours, the American spirit endures.
This weekend, Edwards, Inc. will have the solemn privilege of hoisting our nation’s flag nearly 200 feet above Carter-Finley Stadium in Raleigh as NC State takes the field.
For us, this is more than a lift. It is a tribute.
A tribute to the 2,977 lives lost.
To the firefighters, police officers, first responders, service members, and ordinary Americans who demonstrated extraordinary courage.
To the families who have carried the weight of that day for 25 years.
And to a nation that refused to be broken.
As Lee Greenwood so powerfully wrote:
“’Cause the flag still stands for freedom”
And 25 years later, it still stands.
May the sight of the Stars and Stripes high above Carter-Finley remind us of what was taken from us, what was given for us, and what still binds us together as Americans.
We will never forget.
