Posting here as one last attempt to reach Class of 1999 alumni and Spring Hill Faculty & Staff from our school years 1986-1999…

The SHHS Class of ‘99 is having our 25-Year Class Reunion with several events this weekend!

FRI, SEPT. 27, at 7 p.m. = HOMECOMING FOOTBALL GAME
Reserved seating area is at the top of the section just north of the press box.
Find information and advanced tickets online.

SAT, SEPT. 28, at 10 a.m. = FALL FESTIVAL PARADE
Meeting in the elementary school parking lot at 300 S. Webster.

SAT, SEPT. 28, at 5 p.m. = CLASS REUNION & FACULTY/STAFF APPRECIATION HOUR
613 S. Race St (SH Community Center)
Run of show:
5:00 - 6:30 Faculty & Staff Happy Hour -- Past students, teachers, coaches, administrators, and team members reconnect and reminisce over cake, coffee, beer and wine.
6:15-6:30 Photos -- All attendees picture and all classmates picture.
6:45 Dinner -- Catered by K&M BBQ.
9:00 Closing.
Live DJ and bar throughout.
Cost:
$45/Class of ‘99 member or $85/couple: includes buffet dinner, open bar beer & wine, non-alcoholic beverages, cake, souvenir cup.
A $30/person package is available, including cake, non-alcoholic beverages, souvenir cup.
Faculty/staff = no charge.

Not much going on here lately friends. Do any of you have a funny or memorable moment from your time in Spring Hill that you would care to share? I remember the times that Mr Ragsdale would mix sulfur and iron and burn it in chemistry, the whole school would smell like rotten eggs the entire day, I think he really enjoyed that a little too much.

There are a lot of rumors going around tonight and emotions are running high.

Understandably, people are upset and confused about the timing of certain events as they relate to the election.

I hope that we can come together and work toward positive solutions to the new challenges we face as a community.

I am thankful for my “little” town and the people in it who care so much about its future.

In 2019, then County Commissioner Klika appointed me to the Johnson County Museum Advisory Board. I have some experience working with archival material when I was a graduate student at KU so I may be slightly more qualified than the average bear for such a position.
My current Commissioner, Charlotte O'Hara, declined to renew my appointment.
I emailed her several months ago and asked for some engagement with her so she could meet me and maybe make an informed decision as to how she wanted to proceed.
I never heard anything from her and she appointed someone else to represent our district--several months after my appointment had expired but I kept attending meetings.
She didn't even have the decency to tell me.
I heard from a staff member at the museum.
Please remember this is the kind of person she is when you are voting in the next election.
If she wanted to appoint someone else that is her absolute right.
However, it is really a shame that she handled it this way. It shows a complete lack of respect for my service on the board and as one of her constituents.
