A meaningful moment for Spokane Falls Recovery Center. 💙

They recently held a Bible Burying Ceremony, burying a Bible filled with verses highlighted by their staff and patients. Those personally selected passages made this a special expression of faith, hope, and the journey toward healing.

October is Careers in Construction Month, and Team Baker has been helping the next generation picture their future in the trades!

At Associated Builders and Contractors Inland Pacific Chapter Construction Trades Night, kids tried their hand at power tools and built picture frames to take home. Then, at HUB Sports Center's Unlock Your Future event, students put their jobsite safety knowledge to the test by choosing clothing that’s safe to wear on a construction site.

From learning a new skill to understanding why safety comes first, these experiences help students explore what a career in construction could look like. We love sharing our industry—and seeing their curiosity, confidence, and creativity in action!

Thank you to ABC Inland Pacific Chapter and HUB Sports Center for bringing students and local businesses together to explore future careers.

October 10 is World Mental Health Day—a reminder that caring for our people includes their mental well-being, on and off the jobsite.

The need in construction is real. CDC data from 2021 found that men working in the construction industry had a su***de rate 75% higher than working men overall. Construction was among the industries with the highest su***de rates. Behind those numbers are people, families, and crews.

At Baker, our mission is to build to make people’s lives better. That starts with looking out for one another. Take a moment to ask yourself how you’re doing, check in with a coworker, and make space for an honest answer.

It’s okay to pause. It’s okay to ask for help. You don’t have to handle it alone. You matter.

This levy helps fund student programs and services that state and federal funding do not fully cover, including athletics, extracurricular activities, special education, and student support staff. It replaces the existing levy when it expires at the end of 2027.
