You’d be surprised how much junk builds up inside old Spokane plumbing. We were out in a basement near Manito Park and pulled out a section of galvanized pipe that was almost completely choked shut with rust.
It’s a common story in our older neighborhoods like South Hill and Hillyard. If your water looks a little "off" in the morning or your shower pressure has turned into a drizzle, it’s usually not the city’s fault—it’s your pipes literally closing up from the inside.
We’re doing a lot of full-home repipes lately because, honestly, patching a 60-year-old pipe is like putting a band-aid on a dam. Switching to modern PEX or copper doesn't just stop the leaks; it actually makes your water taste better and keeps your dishwasher from struggling.
A few things to watch for:
That weird metallic taste when you brush your teeth.
Rust stains in the bottom of your tub.
Having to turn off the kitchen sink just to get enough pressure for a shower.
If you’re tired of the "patch and pray" method with your plumbing, give us a shout. We know these old Spokane houses inside and out and can get you back to having reliable water without the constant "what's that leak?" stress.
