Hopefully this is the last of it!

A potentially historic April storm will arrive late Wednesday, bringing a variety of precipitation types, strong wind gusts in excess of 50 mph, and very heavy snow totals. Blizzard conditions are expected across western Minnesota with nearly impossible travel conditions by Thursday.

The snowfall gradient near the metro may end up tighter than currently shown due the chance for a more prolonged wintry mix. In addition, the map shows total snowfall amounts added up for each six hour period - the amount on the ground after the storm could be less due to varying precip types.

Prepare now for a severe winter storm!

Be safe out there this weekend!

Confidence is high a major winter storm will cause significant travel impacts across the Upper Midwest this weekend! Heavy snow and widespread blowing snow are likely for much of central and western Minnesota. Some rain could mix in across southeastern Minnesota into central Wisconsin Saturday, cutting down snowfall totals there.

Kandiyohi County roadways are completely covered with a mix of snow, ice or slush, white out conditions, drifting snow, black ice, blowing snow, and slippery. Reminder to turn your headlights on due to limited visibility
