Job description:

β€’ Placing fiber optic cable.
β€’ Connects wires and cables to terminals and attaches/detaches various kinds of hardware to wires, cables, buildings, or poles.
β€’ Performs aerial tasks such as new cable installs, pole transfers, strand building, cable hanging, lashing, etc.
β€’ Climbing utility poles and/or using bucket truck or ladders to place cables on poles.
β€’ Ensures all installation work is done according to company standards.
β€’ Must always comply with proper safety standards/procedures and work practices according to the customer, whichever standard is higher.
β€’ Knowledge in building strand, lashing/over lashing, pole transfers, vertical grounds and building and repairing aerial telecommunication transmission lines.
β€’ Safely use Bucket, Line, or boom trucks.
β€’ Ability to utilize teamwork and responsibility to complete tasks at hand.

Physical demands :
β€’ Lift up to 50+ lbs.
β€’ Requires extended periods of bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting, lifting in awkward positions, standing, twisting, reaching above shoulder level, working in confined spaces, working off a pole or in a bucket.
β€’ Capable of working in all temperatures, climates, and weather conditions.

Requirements:

β€’ Ability to operate a truck efficiently.
β€’ Ability to read and interpret construction prints, plans and specifications.
β€’ Able to work outdoors in all types of weather.
β€’ Ability to climb poles and work at heights up to and exceeding 30 feet.
β€’ Must meet Background Check requirements.
β€’ Must be able to pass drug screen
β€’ High school diploma or GED preferred, but not required.

Must have and maintain a valid state driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
