We came out to this project to remove the treads and crumbling risers. We removed the treads, broke apart the areas of stone and joint material. We cleaned up the foundation before we started the rebuild on the risers with the same stone we took out. Once the risers were rebuilt and cemented in place we installed a layer of mud to set our granite salt and pepper treads on. We kept the same theme and consistency as the surrounding stone work. On the second set of steps we picked the tread up to remove the lip aka tripping hazard from the existing walkway (picture with saw).

We installed new treads and fixed the risers in 2 of these sets of steps as well as mulch the landscape beds to top everything off!

This project started as a nightmare for the homeowners — but we were able to step in and turn it around! 👊

When we arrived, the patio had been started with a poor-quality product that was extremely difficult to work with. We gave it our best shot to utilize the material already on site, but after two days with very little progress, we made the call to switch to a higher-quality paver.

We brought in Unilock Treo Flagstone in Granite Fusion, finished with a Dark Charcoal border — and the difference speaks for itself. We also added an addition to the stone wall to support the corner of the patio.

The finished patio covers approximately 600 sq. ft., creating a beautiful, open space with plenty of room for entertaining and everyday use.

The clients are ecstatic with the transformation and the decision to go with a quality product built to last.

And a big shoutout to Joe, the foreman of this crew — he KNOWS how to get it done! 👊

Another project wrapped up! ✅

This property had a steep banking that needed a long-term solution, so we installed an Ideal Fat Face 2.0 retaining wall in Vineyard with Universal Black coping to safely retain the grade while giving the area a clean, finished appearance.

To further stabilize the slope, we installed and compacted rip rap into the bank for added erosion control. Although drainage wasn’t required for this application, we still installed a drainage system behind the wall because we believe in building projects to last—not just to meet the minimum requirements.

To finish things off, we graded a very uneven section of the yard, creating a smoother, more usable space for the homeowner.

Proper depth and trenching play a huge role in the longevity and durability of any retaining wall project.

Along with a solid, properly compacted base, the prep work is one of the most important parts of the entire wall — especially here in New England, where freeze/thaw cycles, moisture, and shifting ground can put a wall to the test.

A retaining wall is only as strong as what’s underneath it.

Do it right the first time, and it’ll last for years.

Here’s a small retaining wall we built to help retain the existing grade of the yard while still allowing for maximum usable yard space.

For this project, we used Ideal Block Fat Face 2.0 in Vineyard with universal caps/coping. Around the pool liner, we installed 2–3” river stone to give it a softer, decorative finish while keeping the area clean and low maintenance.

We also graded the entire lawn to give everything a smooth, finished touch. Throughout the project, we tracked in and out using the same path to keep the worksite as clean as possible and limit unnecessary damage. We also used equipment mats to help reduce lawn damage and make the final repair quicker and easier.
