🍂 FALL LAWN CARE CHECKLIST 🍁
Fall is here in the Upstate! While mowing season may be slowing down, there’s still plenty to do to keep your lawn and landscape looking its best.
Here’s your fall lawn care checklist from Hub City Landscapes! 🌱
✅ Keep Mowing – Continue mowing as needed until your grass enters dormancy. Avoid cutting it too short.
✅ Manage Fallen Leaves – Remove heavy leaf buildup to prevent smothering your turf and encouraging disease.
✅ Aerate & Overseed Fescue – Fall is the ideal time to establish and thicken cool-season fescue lawns in the Upstate.
✅ Prepare Warm-Season Turf – Bermuda, Zoysia, and Centipede lawns are preparing for dormancy. Avoid late-season nitrogen applications.
✅ Refresh Mulch & Pine Straw – Give your landscape beds a fresh appearance while helping protect plant roots as temperatures drop.
✅ Prune Selectively – Remove dead, damaged, or hazardous branches. Avoid heavy pruning of spring-flowering shrubs.
✅ Inspect Drainage – Clear leaves and debris from catch basins, downspouts, and drainage systems before winter rainfall arrives.
✅ Winterize Irrigation – Adjust watering schedules and protect exposed irrigation components before freezing temperatures.
