Good evening, Facebook! Well it is almost that time again! It is now March and we always recommend opening your pools as soon as possible to circulate that water and get an early start against algae. The longer the pool sits stagnant as the water warms up, the faster algae will grow. We are already booking appointments for openings, including cleaning or not and we have a few liners just waiting on solid warmer weather. Keep in mind that we are a small business but we will never accept a job we can not do. We will also never do a job halfway. We take pride in our job and in YOUR pool. Good afternoon,
Please read this post entirely if you can.

I felt drawn to make this post because oftentimes some people forget that Shorty's Pool Service is operated almost entirely by 2 people. Not robots. Not 20 year olds. Not an army. 2 human beings who are both in their 50's.
Now don't get me wrong, they love what they do. They love being their own bosses but they are humans. Shorty has had surgery a few weeks ago and went back to work within 3 days. John had a triple bypass a few years ago that affects the functionality of his leg to this day. He was hospitalized less than 2 weeks ago due to an infection in his toe that almost cost him his leg. I don't say these things to make excuses.
I say these things because I know Shorty has thrown up every single day she has worked this week due to the heat. I know John is currently sick as a dog due to working 10 hour days on antibiotics in this heat (which the bottle clearly says to stay out of the sun). I am asking for a little respect and understanding. And if you feel the need to mistreat John and Shorty then they do not need your business because they have wonderful, loyal clientele who will continue to treat them right.

We apologize for any delays in our work schedule. We are ready and wanting to get all the liners and big jobs completed but we can not catch a break with this rain. Hopefully mother nature gives us some solid sunny days soon! Remember that liners much have 3 days in a row of sun to be installed correctly. A build needs 3-5 sunny days depending on size.
We will never take shortcuts just to "get the work done". We take pride in making sure the work is done the right way!

We will be out of touch all next week so if you are looking to open those pools give us a shout! We are already opening multiple pools to get that water flowing and preventing further algae growth.

We are also getting our book filled for liner replacements! If you are looking to get your liner replaced before summer hits, be sure to call and get on our schedule. Liner replacements need at least 3 days of solid sun and 60+ degree days. Those are hard to come by as spring showers hit and we are guaranteed to get booked out on liners.

We are booking up FAST! Reminder that with any rain, wind, or cloud cover we are unable to do liners. Liners need 60 degree plus weather for at least 2 forecasted days and 3 for larger pools. We need the sunshine to heat the vinyl to apply it as perfectly as we would want for our customers. We are opening and cleaning even in the rain and are trying very hard to get large projects completed as well but those April showers that bring May flowers didn't help us any.
Also keep in mind that we are only a 2 person crew with the occasional help on bigger projects. We are both over 50, we are grandparents, and we are working 7 days a week most weeks to take care of our loyal customers. Please bear with us if we are behind on your pool. We appreciate you all so much for that continued loyalty ❤

Thanks to donations from some wonderful people I have FOUR tickets to Dollywood going up for raffle to help cover my grandfather's funeral costs. Here is how to enter to win!

2. I will send you my PayPal or Venmo info depending on your preference and after I receive payment you will be given a number
3. Once the time frame for entries is over, I will put the numbers in a random generator that will pick the winner!

Entries will be $10 each. Prize is worth right at $400! Tickets can be used anytime between now and January 11, 2025! All money received will go directly to cover funeral costs. Entries will be taken until October 15th. Winner will be notified October 16th!

Just a quick post to update our loyal customers. We have 200+ customers that we provide services for. We love you guys and we greatly appreciate the ability to take care of your pools but we are only a two person crew. On weekends we occasionally have help with larger projects such as liners. We have tried to hire full time employees and they stop showing up for work. Currently we are booking about a month out. We would love to get everyone's pools opened and ready before Memorial Day but it isn't feasible. We work dawn until dark, 7 days a week right now. Please just bear with us.
