Here is a 24ft x 24ft garage we dug earlier this year. We had done this clients septic system last year, he loved working with us so much that he had us back this year todo the sitework for his new garage. The project started with installing straw wattle and silt fence to protect a nearby seasonal wetland. Which also made this site even more tight of a space to work in. This was a super tight lot that involved many working pieces. Prior to us starting we had to bring in one of our subs to remove the trees in the work area as well as move back an existing retaining wall in order for this garage to fit and us work safely. More to come on this project.

Fix this old house septic addition. We did an all new septic system on this old 1800s farm house in Southwick. We were up against the elements big time on this project. With winter well set in and a deeper winter then expected this job was not easy. Their was well over 18in of frost in the ground. Luckily we had the right tools for the job. The solution was less then ideal but it got the job done. When we dug for the septic tank we didnt hit a stitch of frost. Was able to sink a bucket in the ground like it was summer time. We then moved over 10ft to dig for the leachfield and hit 18in of frost. Crazy how soils are and can react to certain things. We had to jack hammer the frost out in order to expose the needed ground in order to install this system. Once the ground was excavated we were able to install this system in between -15 degree cold snaps. Once we got the system inspected the weather worked with us for a bit in between 3ft snow storms, with a quick thaw so we could quickly and efficiently backfill to give this new system a winter nap. And return in the spring for final grade. We lived up to our moto on this one of "No Problems Only Solutions".

We just completed this sewer tie in in Wespringfield on Piper road. At the end of a 5 yr moratorium this client wanted to tie in before the end of the year. With a ton of beautiful landscaping all around the house, a concrete stoop at the front of the house. And alot of utilities going into the side of the house, we didnt have vary many options for how to get this property tied in. In the back where the septic tank was. Was a vary large investment in landscaping. We would have had to tear it all up in order to connect to the line leaving the house. In the front was a concrete stoop making it so we couldnt come out the front due to the acess to the front of the foundation being completely cut off by the stoop. Our only option was to come out the side of the house where the main sprinkler box was and where the gas came in. But the challenge didnt stop there. The gas ran parrell to where the sewer line was coming out of the house and going to the towns stub. And at one point we had to cross it in order to connect. We followed eversource guidelines and kept a 18in seperation from the bottom of the gas line to the top of the sewer pipe. This posed a challenge for maintaining the pipes pitch. As the gas line was deeper then normal. And only 18in off of the stub in elevation. Having little to no impact on the landscaping was a challenge and expectation we had to meet as well. As this homeowner had a vary large investment into landscaping. We filled the septic tank with flowable fill in order to de commission it properly and legally. But with no impact to the landscaping. As the tank was completely under the stone bed and had bushes and a retaining wall nearby. Typically we crush and fill them in with dirt. Had we had done this, this wouldve taken all the landscaping in the immediate area right out. We trimmed a few bushes and with great care removed a portion of the landscaping in order to dig next to the house for the new line. When we were done we put everything back to the way it was before. The only things we weren't able to work around without doing damage to was nearby direct bury low voltage outdoor lighting wires and sprinkler lines. But that is par for the course. We repaired the sprinkler lines prior to back filling. And the home owner had his electrician come to fix the low voltage lighting. Even with all of the challenges and set backs on this job. It was still a fun job todo and kept us on our toes. We not only did this job efficiently and safely. But it looks like we were never even there.

We are now an APPROVED drain layer in the city of Westspringfield.

Phase 3 of our sitework project in Worthington, MA is complete โ€” septic system installation.
This project called for a 37' x 12' B43 Eljen system, carefully designed by the engineer to fit a code-compliant leach field into a tight and challenging area of the property. From the start, this lot presented difficulties, including a tough perc test and a less-than-ideal system location on a shelf along the woodline.
We worked closely with the town and engineer to ensure full compliance with Massachusetts wetlands regulations, as the system falls within the 100-foot riverfront buffer zone. This required coordination, approvals, and filing an RDA with the state to move forward properly.
Site conditions added another layer of complexity. While the soil itself was workable, the amount of underlying ledge made installation extremely challenging. We were able to set the 1,500-gallon septic tank just before hitting ledge, and adjusted elevations slightly to avoid unnecessary rock excavation while still maintaining proper pitch.
Running the 4โ€ drain line to the leach field brought additional challenges. What should have been a straightforward run turned into a reroute around a blueberry field due to shallow ledge conditions. This required extra bends, careful grading, and additional labor to maintain proper depth and pitch.
Once the system was installed, we circled back to set the tank โ€” all while working through early winter conditions that made an already difficult job even tougher.
Every project has its challenges, but this is one weโ€™re proud to add to the portfolio.
Weโ€™ll be returning this summer to complete the final phase, including driveway installation, grading, topsoil, and finishing touches to bring the site together.
If youโ€™re planning a project and need a team that can handle tough conditions and get it done right, reach out.

We did a title 5 inspection on this property transfer last spring in Westfield. The leachfield was in good condition. But the tank on the other hand was not. We found that the tanks structual integrity was compromised and had to be replaced. But man were we in for a suprise when we exposed it last fall when we did this job. All along the top the tank had cracked clean threw, and even had spider cracks in the middle of the tank going from top to bottom. Luckily the tank held together for us as we installed the new plastic tank right next to it. We installed a new 1,500 gallon Norwesco plastic tank. As acess to this back yard was limited and tight. We have done plastic tanks in the past. But each plastic tank manufacturer is just a little different. It was super cool taking a Norwesco plastic tank class for one of my continuing ed courses. And then getting to apply it to the real world. This job had a bonus of a beautiful view of the fall foliage. We were able to dig around the customers in ground sprinklers which was also another bonus for this job. Once again proving our moto of "No Problems Only Solutions".
