The Ping Pong Effect clearly shown in my attic thanks to my Shelly sensors and live tracking them on Google Sheets using Claude A.I. I installed 3 temp/ humidity sensors at low, middle and high elevations in my attic. A fourth was imbedded in the spray foam at the ridge.

As I've learned from reading material from joe lstiburek (and I hope I don't butcher this), humid air is buoyant, so it will gather at the ridge of an open cell spray foam attic like mine.

During the night and early morning (00:00-12:00) this water v***r is absorbed by the wood structure. The dewpoint drops but more strikingly towards the ridge.

The sun warms the roof (12:00-00:00) and drives the moisture out by raising the v***r pressure with heat. The ridge dewpoint dramatically increases more than the rest of the attic.

If left unchecked, this wetting/ drying effect under more extreme circumstances can rot the wood. I plan on reconnecting my dehumidifier which will pull air from the ridge and hopefully regulate these swings. And now I'll have the sensors to provide the data to know for sure.

To the extent possible, fabricate a short duct between the boot and toe kick register. You'll need a builder that will care to make sure it stays in place until the cabinet guy comes and make sure in the interim it doesn't get removed, stomped on or defecated on but it's worth the trouble.

(ACCA) Manual T matters. A client of mine asked how the Fittes floor registers compare to the Truaire register I normally spec.

The max pressure drop across a register or grille that we usually design for is .03". A decently engineered 4X10 usually can handle up to 120 CFM (watch your throw and spread). The Fittes 4x10 already exceeds .03" at 45 CFM. In fact to get 120 CFM, you'd have to step up to a 8X14.5.

For small rooms, you may not need to significantly increase the register size . But for large rooms and open areas where throw, spread, noise and volume matter, these decisions have to be made BEFORE the HVAC is roughed in and boots installed.
