Host & Founder Spotlight: Rosy from Jardín Encantado

Hi my name is Rosy, owner of Jardin Encantado & your host for the second annual Downriver Plant Fest 2026! 🌿

We’ve been serving the Downriver community for the past 6 years & own SE Michigan’s very first mobile plant boutique on wheels. I’m very excited to once again bring such a unique event to life for all of us to enjoy.

Although we don’t have a brick & motor, you can find us at various markets & pop-up events throughout the year. We offer a variety of houseplants, airplants, succulents, cacti & various plant themed items. We also host fun workshops & plant swaps at our second home, Noemi Studios.

Thank you again for following this journey & we hope to see you all there!

Participant Spotlight: Downriver Butterflies 🦋

Joining us yet again at Downriver Plant Fest 2026 is one of my favorite local groups, Downriver Butterflies!

Karen has been raising and releasing butterflies for 24 years in her Allen Park home. Her yard is a Registered Monarch Waystation. She started a butterfly group called Downriver Butterflies for people who want to promote the planting of milkweed and help in the conservation of our pollinators. She hopes to have live caterpillars, chrysalises, cocoons, examples of rearing containers, etc. on display, along with butterfly gardening information. She will have free milkweed seeds to offer and information on how to start a Monarch Waystation.

Joining Karen is Master Gardener, Judith, who will be on hand for any gardening questions you may have. Judith's yard is also a Registerd Monarch Waystation. Judith also has many reference books to show some of our wonderful species of butterflies and moths here in Michigan.

Here are the details on the plant swap that will be happening during Downriver Plant Fest 2026 🪴

What is a plant swap & what makes it exciting?
• An opportunity to trade amongst fellow plant peeps & snag some new plants for your collection, there are no money offers allowed ONLY TRADES!

Huge shout out to Eclectic Wunders who will be facilitating & assisting with the plant swap. A layout of the whole event will be posted closer to the date but you'll want to follow the signage or look for Eclectic Wunders booth.

How do you bring your plants to the swap?
• Be sure to bring your plants in something you're okay with parting with. If you don't have any nursery containers, here are some ideas:

• Jars
• Disposable Cups
• Wrapped in damp paper towel

For your convenience, we will have tape, markers, ziplock bags, to assist with labeling, all available FCFS.

• 50+ vendors will joining in on this year’s exciting celebration of plants, community, and local growers! Whether you’re a house plant collector, enthusiast, or just love plants, you don’t want to miss out on this FREE event!

• The Downriver Butterfly group & Luke from Southeast Michigan Beekeepers Association will be on site to talk about the importance of our pollinators & butterfly gardens! 🐝🦋

• Lumi Photbooths will be capturing memories & providing FREE digital pictures! 📸

• SWDEJAY from Fiesta Vibes Detroit will be setting the ambiance! 🎶

Available items will be posted in this feed with a description on quantities & amount. If interested comment sold under the picture. Please do not send over any payments until I’ve sent you an invoice. Items will be deleted as they get picked up.

* THESE ITEMS MUST BE PICKED UP BY THURSDAY 6/11, PLEASE DO NOT CLAIM IF YOU’RE UNABLE TO PICKUP BY THEN! REALLY QUICK TURNAROUND DUE TO DPF NEXT SUNDAY! *

Pickups can be arranged in Southgate or Detroit (only Wednesday).

Methods of payment: Cashapp, Venmo, Zelle, Cash if purchased from me before & you’re able to pickup within 24 hours of claiming. Invoices will be sent out in the AM & must respond within 24 hours or they’ll be offered to the next person who’s shown interest.
