~Custom Wall Unit~
I recently completed the assembly of a comprehensive set of freestanding cabinets, which I designed and built for a client in Woodbury, CT. Following the completion of the painting process by her designated painter, I reassembled the units today, preparing them for my client's use. As a seamstress, she utilizes a dedicated room for her sewing activities, and I specifically designed this wall unit to accommodate her fabric and sewing supplies. The client is extremely satisfied with the final result.

~ Furniture Restoration ~
A beautifully restored chair is now ready for delivery, having undergone a comprehensive refinishing process in my shop. When I first received the chair, it was in a terrible condition, necessitating a complete overhaul, including disassembly, stripping, sanding, and refinishing of all components, as well as cleaning the metal hardware, which retained its attractive patina. Pictures of the process below.

~Today in the shop~
I have completed the construction of a frame for a Mike Ludlow painting. I selected reclaimed barn siding, which seemed fitting for the scene it depicted. I wire-brushed the wood to reveal the light brown tone beneath the grey oxidation. A small bead was added to the outer edge to provide a subtle detail. I am pleased with this simple, primitive aesthetic.

~ Today in the shop~
I am thrilled to have this stunning original painting by the legendary American illustrator Mike Ludlow (1921–2010) in the shop right now!For this beautiful piece, I am crafting a custom frame using this gorgeous, rustic weathered pine. Here is a quick look at the artist behind the canvas.
Who Was Mike Ludlow?The Golden Age King: In the 1950s and 60s, Ludlow was at the absolute top of the American commercial art world.The Esquire Girls: His claim to fame was illustrating all 12 months of the iconic 1957 Esquire Magazine calendar.A Household Name: His art covered America's biggest magazines, including The Saturday Evening Post, Cosmopolitan, and Good Housekeeping.Music Masterpieces: He also painted dozens of famous album covers for RCA Records. A Change of SceneryLater in life, Ludlow walked away from the high-glam commercial world to paint what he loved: horses, landscapes, and Western fine art. This painting perfectly captures that later era, featuring his trademark bold, energetic brushstrokes and beautiful lighting.We can’t wait to show you how this rustic frame transforms and highlights this incredible piece of American art history. I was one of those kids who used all the crayons in the box!
Ready to start building another wall unit but first let’s make a few Suns!
Just applied dye, waiting for it to dry, can’t wait to put oil on these. They are all made of tiger maple and the figure is going to be amazing!
